Well Apple kinda promised iPad-focused optimisations in later 10.x updates so I assume 10.3 will be when it happens...
While it would make sense for the new iPads in the Spring, I can also see them delaying many iPad features for iOS 11 in the Fall because, well, they're Apple.

Useless? How is the vast majority using it quite well?
Where is this vast majority? You're the first I've seen who thinks it works quite well.

Maybe it's just because Ive moved over from android so I've seen the notification system be far more useful.

If you don't receive many notifications it is fine on iOS. But one scenario where it really aggravates me is when I am in a group message on facebook and I get a different notification for every message. It should just show one notification for messenger. Instead there's 30 and other notifications are somewhere in that list, so I have to search through them. If I have to scroll through notifications then there's something wrong.

Not what I expect, but what I'd like.

Put back the on/off switch for iTunes puschases showing in my music library instead of a sub-menu.

Make the on/off for iTunes purchases showing in my video library actually work.

Have an auto-close app option for those that are sitting in the background for a specified period of time without being used. Could be by app.

Fix whatever has been done to the play next/play later options in the music app. It seems to have no logic to it anymore. Was much better in 9.

NFC enabled cards in wallet; for my condo & office buildings, and transit fare card etc.

EXIF data view in photos app. Oh, and make the camera import adapter thing work again.

Ability to see the whole name of a song in the song list. When you have an album of remixes and all you see is the song name for each remix, and not the mix name, it's pretty useless.

When something doesn't work or is really bad we all hear about it, and certainly in places like here. While notifications have certainly been a subject of discussion over the years as far as being better or different in various ways, they haven't been something that have risen anywhere close to a level of something that is actually broken or useless.

So it's not that they are useless or many people aren't finding them to be just fine, it's more that they could be better, and certain particular scenarios that you'd want to work differently.

It's useless to me. That was one scenario where it was a joke. But generally I don't bother looking at the notifications too much because if I'm at work and then look at them at lunch they're a schamozzle. Sorry mate but they're just crap.

They might very well be to you based on your use and expectations. They are certainly just fine for many others.

Smoother inertial scrolling in various apps on the iPhone 7. It's frustrating that Tweetbot runs so much more smoothly on an iPhone 6S Plus than on my iPhone 7 Plus.

I hope the podcast and iBook apps get a redesigned to match music and TV. iBooks should also loose the "i"

I fully expect that the "What do YOU expect from iOS 10.4?" threads to start on the day of the release of iOS 10.3...
