You'll love this then! I personally have one, if you can get over the extra length, bulkiness, and awkwardness; it's a pretty neat case. I'm usually back and forth on using it all the time though.

I had Clicks for my 15 Pro and it was...fine? Part of the problem is that iOS doesn't like hardware keyboards, even though iPadOS handles them great.

Plus, it's expensive for a phone case!

Why do you say iOS doesn’t like hardware keyboards? I’ve been using a Bluetooth keyboard with my iPhone since having my old iPhone 7, never had an issue. The only thing I wish I could on the iPhone that's possible on an iPad is quickly switching apps with cmd+tab.

But, I agree. The Clicks case is pretty expensive for what it is.

I don't have an iPad, I use a Surface. But it doesn't matter, even if I had an iPad the point would be the same.
Tablets are not a replacement for laptops, but a supplement, and most importantly, they allow you to use them standing or in an uncomfortable position. And in my case, with a different OS, it only confirms the fact that the tablet is an auxiliary device.

This means that the main use of tablets does not require intensive typing on the keyboard.
The most common uses are browsing, viewing documents and videos, reading books, maps, drawing, photo edition.

I make minor edits to documents and write messages using the on-screen keyboard. Sometimes I use dictation.
The only reason why a keyboard is needed is for games. :)
Which is not often, if the kids ask for it while traveling.

For intensive work, a laptop is more practical.
If you don't use tablet as a laptop replacement, then keyboard not neseccary.
I use the keyboard as a screen protector and a stand when watching movies.

I'm multilingual. While iPadOS accepts this no problem with a hardware keyboard, for some reason iOS just doesn't. Same with autocorrect and suggestions - iPadOS has that handy floating suggestion bar, iOS just doesn't. Emoji input is pretty atrocious too.

It's especially bizarre to me considering that Apple already has hardware keyboards nicely integrated on iPad.

Is anyone else super bummed that they’ve basically discontinued the magic keyboard folio for iPad Pro? I thought it was the perfect combo of portability and versatility. I got the Logitech version but it’s not nearly as good.
Do you mean to say the Smart Keyboard Folio? (The one that folds back behind the iPad?). I still use it on my M1, and it’s one of the reasons I haven’t yet upgraded to the M4 iPads.

BTW, Apple didn’t technically discontinue it, they still make…… for the new iPad Air (although you’ll have to dig into Apple’s site to find it).

Ah thanks for the info!

I've definitely noticed the lack of the suggestion bar. For autocorrect, I do remember having to painstakingly add a lot of my own autocorrections in the text replacement settings (mostly apostrophes in words) . It's odd that some words auto correct, and others just... don’t. I've made a few intentional typos just typing this with my Bluetooth keyboard, my iPhone autocorrected some just fine, other times it puts a squiggly line under. And oddly enough, there were a few words that were correct that it changed to something completely different.

And I didn’t even consider multiple language support.

Yes, that’s the one. They discontinued it for iPad Pro which was surprising to me.

I feel the same - I had a folio keyboard for my 12.9 and loved that you could fold it back and and use it as a tablet when I wanted to. It was super convenient
