I been reading these posts. I'm looking for a VPN and is the Opera one safe? Will it give me the protection I need?

Opera is being purchased by some Chinese companies. You might want to consider that.

I've used Witopia in the past and liked it. I currently use and recommend TorGuard (no connection to Tor). With a coupon code (easy to find) it's $29.99 a year.
