Leica M9 and 35 Summarit - I like the simplicity of it and the way it renders.

And an iPhone.

Nice.

How do you find the Leica M9? (And how does the Summarit compare with the Summicron 35 mm?)

I'm very happy with the M9 and I'll keep using it so long as it keeps working. I haven't really spent much time with a Summicron so I don't really have a good comparison with the Summarit.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Good to hear that you are very happy with the M9.

Actually, I haven't switched to digital, and am still in the world of film.

My current (normal) camera is a Leica R7, with a Leica 35-70 lens, but last summer I bought a M6 (TTL) and have been adding a few lenses which include a 35 mm Summicron, and a 50 mm Summicron (and yes, also an extravagance which I was offered, a Noctilux f1, because I like low light photography).

As I am working abroad, I actually haven't had the opportunity to take this lot out to play yet, but I am very much looking forward to being able to do so when I am home.

What do you shoot with?

So in addition to the above, I just picked up the following from work. All second hand, but at a really good price. All Nikon

D300

70-200mm 2.8 VR

24-70mm 2.8

14-24mm 2.8

10.5mm 2.8

60mm Macro 2.8

2 x Teleconverter

SB900

R1C1 Macro flash rig.

Going to make packing my bag interesting over the summer!

Excuse quality of photo, didn't really have anywhere big enough to show it all, and had to be quick due to needing to put boxes in the loft etc.

Wow someone's been splashing out! That'll keep you out of trouble for a while.

What did make me laugh when looking at that picture of your new gear though is that you have two picture frames hanging on your bedroom wall which still have the generic photo in from Next. Perhaps you should start using that gear to fill them up before buying any more new kit ;)

For me, I use a Fujifilm X100 and a Fujifilm XE1 with a variety of legacy glass as well as the excellent Fuji XF35mm. I chose them for their retro styling, awesome IQ, great old school handling and compact size.

What's a thread about your gear without photos of it eh? Heres a couple of terrible shots of mine.

Lol. I wondered how long it would take to notice! We have had them about 6 years. So far ones been filled.

The gear was from work and cost a lot less than you would think. It was too good a deal to pass up.

I just don't understand why you'd put empty picture frames on the wall.....especially for six years. You're weird....and that coming from me with my strange wife and hats.

I'm a Canon gal. upgraded to the 7D last year and I love it. But it's heavy for every day so...I also have a Panasonic OMD-EM5, which I love. I carry it everywhere. I still end up using my iPhone camera a lot though.
