Oh right!

Last one I swear. This logo is totally faster than the other logos.

its a logo for his photography site? who said anything about scalling for business cards and other uses?

The OP mentioned converting the logo to a vector format. That implies print usage. No reason not to have stuff in print in addition to the web site, depending on how far you want to go.

I like the logo I just think the XI part needs to go, besides that I really like the font and colour you have used.

Thanks for all the help

Thanks guys and gals for all the help and advice.

Good to see there are so many talented people lurking around here.

Better still this whole thread has just given me a new business idea. Watch this space..

If any web designers/programmers/artists are interested in getting involved then just let me know....

Either way, it's all just fluff. A logo needs to work well without the gimmick of the week treatment.

If I see another logo with a reflection under it I think I'm going to puke.

Well, I can do the same thing if I see another post like yours. Instead try to improve the original OP's logo like yagran was trying to do.

...

I forgot the motion blurs to make the logo go faster!
I am greatly enjoying this thread. :D

I'd also recommend staying away from the so-called "Web 2.0" design trend, although a well placed gradient CAN look pretty snazzy. ;)

I see you do currently have your proposed design on the website already, though it looks a bit blurry? Maybe iWeb did something to it. It almost looks like you're going for a lens blur, but it does look like a mistake. Just FYI.

Personally the logo reminds me of an online camera shop or something. I'm guessing you're a professional photographer and this is your photo blog. I think the logo looks a bit too much business-like, dunno what you're intentions are though. It's probably better than using something really cliche like a camera lens. :)

Maybe you could play with the contrast between the two typefaces a little more, perhaps make the "XI" a little more fun and bold.
