it sounds like expect for the ability to address 4 gb of ram, most of the changes are minimal to an average joe. i asked this because i was talking to someone and they thought core2duo and santa rosa were worlds apart, when really it's not.

The CPU is still Core 2 (although actually there have been enhancements made to it, like the ability to automatically shut down one core and overclock the other when running single threaded code).

Core 2 Duo is the microprocessor.

Santa Rosa is the platform, which includes a Core 2 Duo microprocessor, as well as the chipset, wifi, etc.

The revision of the Core 2 Duo that is part of Santa Rosa is slightly enhanced version compared to that which ships with the older MBP.
