Dashboard was the first thing I seeked Googles help to shut off completely after I got my iMac. Totally unneccesary processes running and taking up ram.

But hey if you need a calculator running 24/7 and stock updates heh. I'm sure there maybe one useful dashboard widget but I don't find them useful.

Personally, i don't have my dashboard shut off completely but I have this http://elaum.free.fr/Softwares/ installed on the dashboard which allows me to turn off the widgets whenever i want to. It also displays the amount of memory used.

The widgets are only active when you are in Dashboard, as far as I can see in my activitywindow. They don't show in my active processes list...

On The Interweb Thingy!
I love being able to make my own widgets in Leopard! Finally the Dashboard will be of use to me! :D

From Left to Right....Top to Bottom

Calculator, Main Tech story of BBC News, Shoutbox from my personal website (it's AJAX and refreshes in the frame)

'Pearls Before Swine' comic (it cracks me up) and a calendar so I can't forget my impeding deadlines

Time in Singapore so I can phone my friend at 4am and irritate him, The temp in my town just in case my windows are broked ;) and 'The Mows' comic that also makes me chuckle!

my dashboard

My threadless widget hasn't been displaying the proper images for a while now, does anyone else have this problem?
