That makes sense, now seeing that you have both a magic trackpad and a magic mouse, which one do you see yourself using most often for lengthy design work? (I'm curious because I have both myself, and see myself being tied to the magic mouse for most instances).

i tried to use the trackpad as the primary, it just wasn't happening... back to the magic mouse!

Before & After

Since this thread keeps coming back to me I'll post my before and after photo.

Before: Working from home for an ad agency. G4, great monitor, crappy monitor, great chair, and my home made desk with cord management.

After: Working for myself (forthcoming plug... graphicsward.com). My Macbook, decent monitor, an unexciting chair, and the freedom to get up and go the the beach anytime I want.

Future: The next updated Imac with small monitor in portrait mode, a wacom tablet, and a nice comfy chair.

First thing this AM at work.

I am genuinely jealous of this workspace. If my day-job office was like this, I could only imagine how productive I'd be. Working at a stale, 60 year old manufacturing campus (I'm in Enterprise Architecture IT, so the job isn't dingy at least) takes its toll on your creativity.

Here's my home setup -

While I don't do much visual/graphic design (my fiance is a professional designer for Leapfrog Interactive, but I'm a network engineer by trade), I spend most of my free time developing for the web, iphone, and mac:

I'll post my day job office setup tomorrow morning

Love these threads :D very interesting to see where the magic happens for everyone

Props for having the only Mac Mini in here thus far. :)

Office setup is your typical corporate-cubicle/prison. HP Envy 17 3D with a secondary Viewsonic 17" display. Grey fabric walls and grey desktops.

Home setup is an Ikea desk, a MacBook Pro and an iMac.

The tablet is basically a decoration. I never use it. Everything is done by mouse. It's how I grew up so I'm too set in my ways to switch. It's nice sometimes when I have to brush things. Besides that, never use it.

Nice iMac wallpaper btw...

Here's my desk-in-a-corner. I think I'm getting a bit cramped...

Just a wannabe designer atm, working on a portfolio, but I felt like sharing anyway. Hopefully this will be replaced by an iMac soon:)

I keep the side off because I quite often have to give the GFX card's fan a little tickle to get it spinning  You might notice I've sticky taped an old CPU fan to the bottom, just incase I forget to spin the fan up.

Don't be fooled by the keyboard. I began learning it at school and now I'm trying to re-teach myself.

I don't know about that. Mine was (is...) pretty bad too. This pic was taken a few years back, towards the end of my second year in design school:

Totally looks like a studio at NCSU. When I was there the only computers were in the computer lab. This was back in the days of paste-up, plaka and spraymount.

Here's a shot of my workspace:

I really like your desk. Where'd you get it?
