Ok, that makes me feel better. I didn't want to buy a refurb and find that many of the battery cycles are gone.Apple only guarantees the chassis and battery are replaced. Everything else can be retained.
Given the logic board and display cost over $200 together, you can bet Apple salvages those components.
Actually, the 6s still has a quite strong adhesive around the frame so if you accidentally drop it in water it should be fine... Apple refurbs ALWAYS come with the IP certificate, if there are any.
