Simple; (in order or importance)

- At least two days of battery life.
- REAL wireless charging as standard (charges when you're within "x" feet of range)
- GPS to be used without the iPhone during fitness activities outdoors.
- More sensors to make fitness even more micro manageable and to create the long rumoured/awaited "ultimate health tracker" (iPal)
- Could be a little less bulky.

I think that since AW doesn't have wireless, only bluetooth, it does indeed have 2 day battery life

Mine is VERY simple................

For it to be a stand alone device in it's own right.

Yes, I can hook it up to my phone or computer when needed to download/upload things.

But it should be it's own device in it's own right.

At the moment, the Apple phone is, without question, just an 'iPhone Accessory' and that's sad :(

Again, something I hope will change in time. (Time! lol)

If they don't then watch out. (Watch! lol)

Microsoft, who can make nice hardware as we all know, it said to be bringing a watch out that will work on all 3 formats.

Others will make watches that are more stand-alone devices.

In Europe Apple is well behind Android, so for a start that's not the best way to get everyone wanting an iWatch, make it iPhone only.

- at least 48 hours battery life on moderate usage
- waterproof, good for swimming, snorkeling and any type of outdoor activity

both requirements are mandatory for me, no priorities

damn ;) , after my $5000+ "Swiss Masterpiece" stopped working and required a $1000 repair I switched to a Tissot T-Touch II Titanium ( another $1000 ) which broke as well in less than 24 months. waited for the AW and now they try to sell me what they presented on their keynote ?

going out and buy a $15 Casio watch now for the time being.

The three most important features to me are:
  1. It needs to look good in person
  2. It needs to look good in person
  3. It needs to look good in person

If Gruber is correct and the Edition is $5k that's definitely most important. I really like the rose gold, but am not happy that they didn't produce a darker matching modern buckle. The rose gray leather band is exquisite but perhaps too feminine looking to be unisex. In a black band with rose gold trim it would be perfect. OTOH, maybe it will look just fine, or one of the other 38mm designs will. But I need to see it in person.

I think the whole Watch concept will flop - industry wide - because they have such inherently limited functionality as compared to smart phones and tablets.

It makes me sick to my stomach that Apple poured so much R&D into this toy like Watch when it could have made a pile of money by simply coming out with products the public really yearns for - like an iMac with a 4K resolution screen!

Apple is not making such a huge amount of money from desktops.
It's becoming more of a niche business.

1 day or longer battery life. $500 or less for the regular Apple Watch + metal band. Heart rate monitor that is accurate (aka not anything Samsung ever made). Apps on day 1. Show GPS turn-by-turn directions (in conjunction with iPhone of course).

People said that about the original iPhone. No 3G, no GPS, crappy camera, no video, blah blah blah. See what a massive flop that was.

For me, I'll be waiting for the second gen. Like the iPhone, iPad, TV, and iPod before them, chances are the second model will bring sweeping changes. My top 2 features are battery life (not officially announced yet, so obviously still a work in progress) and thinness - from first looks it does look quite chunky, and again that was similar to the original iPhone and iPad, and they were quickly updated to improve this.

1. Apple launches are not always as successful as the iphone. Apple TV, iPod nano etc were all moderately well received but not the major driver of revenue that the iPhone lineup has been.

2. Apple watch is supposedly 12.5mm thick, which makes it average for sport watches.

I just need the funds :)

Oh and a battery life of more than a few hours would be welcome. My pebble lasts about 3-5 days, thats ok.

It will need to be a standalone device, essentially a mini iPhone, with cellular connectivity, and the ability to hand off anything instantly to the next larger iDevice encountered at the whim of the user.
