Adobe Carlson Pro, Avant Garde, Century Gothic, Futura, Optima, Pigiarniq, Palatino and Verlag would have to be the ones I use all the time.

I am glad no one has said Comic Sans

I've had a long and sordid love affair with Futura and Century Gothic.

I don't particularly like Helvetica—I think it's overrated—but I loved the movie about it! :)

I have to ask: What's not to like about Helvetica? Clean, functional, readable and adaptable... I can't think of too many more adjectives describing type that could entice me to use it.

Oooo... :D

Okay...

San serif fav ("No hats, and no feet")... Futura (so fresh and so clean)

serif fav... Serifa
(font similar to the ones used on w.theknot.com & w.thenest.com)

script fav... Cezanne (Only my husband hates it cause it's a little hard to read...but only because it's looks like colonial script)

:D

Just watch the documentary on the type and you'll hear plenty of arguments against it, that are all well. The best part is, the arguments for it are just as fantastic. It's an incredible push/pull thats represented.

I actually went out to see it with the Miami AIGA when the show was screening down on South Beach, it was pretty freaking great. And while it IS used to the point of near overuse... when used properly, it still makes me stop and say "nice." The guys from Hoefler & Frere-Jones are great in that documentary, by the way. Anyway, this is getting OT. I'm done.

As much as I love fonts, I don't know if I could stay awake for a full-length documentary about nothing but a font.

oooh i like Flama.

Is that the font they use on the Guardian

The Guardian use their own typeface – designed for them..

I was expecting this topic to have some links to wonderful fonts.. instead it's Verdana? Courier? and Gill Sans? Yes fair enough these are classics in their own right (Gill Sans being a truly deserved classic) but hardly original...
Fonts i'm currently in love with are: Glasgow and
Delicious

and a +1 for Dax, a beautiful typeface

It morphs into a film about design in general, and is not ninety minutes about strictly Helvetica. I highly recommend it if you're into design.
