The only problem is that viruses and malware in windows keep them in business. They charge exorbitant fees just to install/run antivirus spyware etc. It's probably not worth it for them to have mac support, stuff doesn't go wrong with them often enough.

Good point, however there are many things that they used to do, that they no longer work with. They were quite the IT company here in the Minneapolis area at one point, and now they are a box repair company for the most part.

People also need to think about the human factor, just because it is a Macintosh, doesn't mean the user cannot do something awkward to render the system inoperable, thus requiring repair. Having the ability for them to work with Macintosh systems would also be of value for people that don't want to pay Genius prices ;) .

Store 10? The only store 10 minutes away that I can think of is Edina, which I believe is store 5. Maplewood is hardly 10 minutes away from Penn avenue, unless you are driving a Ferrari with Police escort. :D

Yup, Edina. The oldschool Best Buy Superstore.

I work at the Geek Squad counter in a heartland store. We recently sold our last Mac Mini. I'd rather not see the Apple Computers in a Best Buy unless they are attended by an Apple rep (or knowledgeable equal, such as myself). The computer sales teams at Best Buy have no interest or knowledge in moving a Macintosh out the door. It it bad for Best Buy because it takes up space, and makes them look bad if the sales staff doesn't know the product. It is bad for Apple because a neglected computer with 14 IE windows open and the terminal running with icons strewn about won't even drive someone to an Apple store to check out a Mac.

Corporate came down with sales and repair guides for us, but the project lost steam quickly. Selling a computer with 10.3 on it isn't the easiest thing to do nowadays. Good riddance.

I totally agree, just like Epson places reps in store to sell their printers. If Apple did this and really tried hard to implement a good sales program at Best Buy they could really make a killing. Problem is...Best Buy doesn't want to criticize some of their product (Windows machines) in order to move more of another product. And we all know the biggest selling point of a Mac becomes most clear when comparing it to a PC.

Ed

That must be the dumbest / funniest site I have visited in a long time. Is there any corporate company that doesn't have something bad about it? I love all the websites like that, they make me laugh, and realize how much I like my job (also a big corporation).

Bah!
