My father died in November of last year and my mom is cleaning stuff out. Those got sent to me, because she has some idea from somewhere that they are valuable.

I intend to look them up, but I'd be shocked if I got more than $1 for them.

That said, I don't have much old Star Wars stuff. I always wanted the toys when the movie came out, but didn't get much. I had a landspeeder and C-3-PO at one point. My next door neighbor had the Falcon.

I needed something to test the scanner though and that card was handy.

I had a nice collection of old Star Wars cards that I'd had since the mid 70s(!!), but they were all lost in my house fire a few years ago... :(

Sorry about your loss :(

Sorry to hear about your father passing. Are you old enough to remember the TI-99/4A ?

Been so busy with college that I haven't gotten a chance to do anything recently :(

I want to film another YouTube video or two about various PPC topics and I need to update my website a little though. I'd also like to do some writing on my iBook, I have some greeting cards I need to get done, and I may just try to make some music using my SLSD. I don't know when I'll have time to do any of these things though. Architecture school is very rigorous.

How much for this 1GHZ TI ? Do both speakers work ?

I got it for around $50 a while back. It was running 10.3 and was being sold for parts because the display was flickering between different shades of blue and the graphics had all sorts of artifacts. This still happens in open firmware and I had suspected a loose cable or even a GPU failure, but once booted to OpenBSD it's fine. No idea why that happened in one OS but not another.

I'm not sure about the speakers; I don't think I've ever used them.

Finished putting a Sonnet Aria wireless card in my Digital Audio, so now I don't need to keep hooking up the wireless Ethernet bridge. The original Airport, of course, didn't support WPA2 which my router requires.

@Macbookprodude I consider myself entrenched within the computer science field. For me, sticking around here for a couple years and getting hands-on experience with the innards of both hardware and software, plus keeping informed with the industry has been all the school I need and then some!

Apprenticeships are the future!

Just recently, I started doing restoration of some of my old home made movies shot on tapes using Topaz' Video Enhance AI and was simply amazed by the quality of the restoration. AI certainly has gone a long way now to finally allow my old SD footages become 4K. This was all done with a modern PC of course, but I hit a snag. One of the old movies that I did with iMovie 2 on my old PowerMac G4 and then subsequently re-saved in raw format using my then old Compaq laptop in AVI with Windows Vista. Yuk! Anyhow, while I could play this old AVI format in VLC, I simply couldn't convert it into anything else without distorting the audio portion, because I lacked one of the codecs. If I want to get it, I have to pay for it. Nope; not doing that for just 1 movie! So what I did was strip the video portion first and then run VLC to play the entire movie and use my PowerBook G4 DSLD to record the audio portion in AIFF 16bit audio. Thank god for older macs having an audio input jack still! Enhanced the SD 480p movie using AI to 2K using my PC and then use Davinci Resolve to marry both the movie and the audio recorded from my G4 DSLD into a full complete restored movie. Restored 2K with cleaner audio brings me back memories. WOW, glad to have that G4 powerbook still working! Could of used the G5, but I was lazy.

@iluvmacs99 When did they axe the audio input jack??

They slowly axed the audio input jack when they started putting newer macs on a slim diet. The Mac Mini, which once had an audio input was axed in the 2018 refresh model. The Macbook Air never came with one. The Macbook once had one but was axed when it went to the 12" slimmer diet model. I think the later MB Pros as they got slimmer lost the input jack as well. I think the input audio jack isn't all too important nowadays as people blog using their USB Mic. I use my Pro USB mic for conference calls and video voiceovers.

@Macbookprodude I'm guessing social skills are not your strong point, my friend?

As a matter of fact, they are.. but it depends who I speak to. But, no I have no issues, as i am a Security Guard for the Verkhovna Rada in Lviv. I make american dollar equivalent to 45,000 - But, I do have issues with those who think PPC is going to be around for the next several years, esp since ARM is now taking control. Apple dumping intel is a great thing, I just wish PPC didn't fail as it did.. then maybe it can still be an everyday platform. I am not against PPC, but I feel we need to move on, as PPC is not going to be supported forever.. Even Cameron Kaiser stated he might not support 104fox for too much longer, because its 2020 and it can't be supported forever.

Thanks. Tell me, when PPC came out were u in diapers ?
Ah, PPC came out long before that xD

My mom got one of the first PPC Macs (7100) for school and has always had an affinity for them. My interest in PPC machines goes back quite a while but my first real world experience came about 3 years ago when I found a "Digital Audio" G4 at a garage sale in the neighborhood. After that I started to learn more and gain more real-world experience with them and now here I am today. :)
