I recommend High Sierra (which IIRC is the last OS that machine can run natively, and the oldest OS that will run Waterfox, which is an up-to-date/modern fork of Firefox), and it also supports Parallels 17, so you're good to run old-or-current Windows and Linux distros in hypervirtualization with all that extra ram and i7 speed getting to do something other than wait-for-the-human faster). It even supports APFS (I don't recommend running it from that format, and absolutely not if your drive is a spinner, but with High Sierra you can at least read and manipulate external APFS drives and network devices).
High Sierra automatically converts SSD-drive its installed to APFS - unless you use a command line installation script to override it.

This is only the case if you're doing a "clean"install. If you're upgrading or refreshing an existing OS, then it leaves the file-system alone. <shrug> ...I don't think I've used an AppStore-sourced dmg installer since I discovered DosDude1's packages come with many more options (including not forcibly converting target drive format in High Sierra or Mojave), and disable that detestable time-expiration limit. My standard M.O. is to create an 8gb partition (9gb for Mojave) at the tail-end of every High Sierra machine's drive to hold the bootable DosDude1 installer; the small partition also has just enough space left to hold a Recovery Partition (and Carbon Copy Cloner 5 will ask you if youd like to create one during copying).

Nope... I meant Tiger for Intel :p

Panther for Intel would be amazing, though.

I‘d take Jaguar for Intel too.

I want OS 9.2.2 for Intel! And since we're there. 7.6.1 too. :D

Contact Tim and let him know...

...if anyone can make it happen, he's the one. :D

Frack! I am quite mad at myself now.

While testing the MBP mid 2014 + eGPU I managed to knock over a full glass of (sugar free) juice on top of the MBP kbd. Turned power off and took the bottom off immediately. Some was dripping on the other side near the right speaker. Now I am happy that I do not glue the new batteries in so it was easy to take out.

Then I decided to flush the kbd with IPA, let it penetrate the kbd and then put it on its side so excess can drip out. I hope IPA washes the juice out and then evaporates. After its dry it's time for a test. I hope to avoid full teardown but in worst case that is what I need to do.

To be totally sure on the drying front, put the board in a big container of dry rice. Fingers crossed.

I put it into a clothes drying cabinet (dunno what they are called) and adjusted temp to +50°C and set the timer to 2 hours. Should be dry after that. ;)

Ah, they are called drying cabinet, like this:

Fingers crossed for you @ToniCH. No more liquids in close proximity to IT devices in future!
After ~44 years of using computers and such + drinks on the same table this is my tally:
1. 2 destroyed Psion 5MX's, 1999-2000 (tea both times)
2. 1 destroyed Apple A1016 keyboard, 2004 (Coca Cola)
3. and todays mishap MBP mid 2014, the result remains to be seen (sugarless juice)

;)

Ok, after some testing it seems that the MBP works!

I have not noticed any malfunctions or oddities yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that IPA cleaned all juice/water away and there is no creeping corrosion happening. 🤞

The mishap happened while I was installing OCLP+Monterey and just as the installer was almost ready. Now after a boot it continued right from where it was left off and finished the installation.

I guess quick reactions and IPA are important in these kinds of situations. Again, lucky there was no sugar, kbds do not like sugar!

Ps. Also happy to report Kryptonite+eGPU works with OCLP+Monterey. 👍 So, problems I had with them and my iMac 2011 are not related but there is something with the iMac that is not compatible with the Kryptonite.

All parts now in place to upgrade the incoming 2011 Mini/Server.
RAM 8>16GB
Boot drive 500GB HDD to 500GB SSD
2nd Drive 500GB HDD to 1TB HDD
Is there anything else I could be doing with this, hardware wise?
I've put on hold the idea of Lion on this due to TRIM issues. I know this can be worked around, I just don't want to be bothered to address it, TBH. Likewise, having checked this out, I will remove SL from the 2007 Macbook that's up for sale and sell it as a Linux machine.
So, no CS6 on it, as I'm not sure just how much of it would work on High Sierra. If I'm wrong about that, then I will investigate the necessary workarounds as part of the project.
