iPad Pro 12.9 2018 wifi 64 gb. Web surfing, media consumption, reading books and scientific papers, writing papers. Smart folio case and a logitech bluetooth keyboard for long writing sessions.

The Apple Magic Keyboard will also drain your battery faster so not much different there.

Do we know if battery drain is faste result of smart connector versus say a keyboard case using Bluetooth?

I’m using an iPad Air 4 with Apple Smart Folio keyboard case. Apart from lack of backlit and media keys, I’m happy since the case was just $60.

Keyboards that use Bluetooth have internal batteries. Since the Magic Keyboard is backlit it obviously uses the iPad’s battery through the smart connector.

2021 11" iPad Pro with Logitech Combo Touch. I love it! Especially the Surface-like kickstand. Much better and infinitely more versatile than Apple's folding smart cover design. Detaching the keyboard while still having a case for protection is great, something the Apple Magic Keyboard case lacks (along with function keys, also very useful). And I do definitely detach all the time.

Only gripe is I think the case combined with the pencil might be draining my battery faster.

12.9” iPad Pro with a Brydge Max+ hard cover keyboard/trackpad case.
The case adds some weight because under the keyboard is a large battery.
Loving it.

I have a 2021 11" Pro. When at my desk, I use the Magic Keyboard and pretty much every else I throw it into a Smart Folio (or at home use it caseless). Couldn't have asked for a better setup.

I'm not sure if you mean case and keyboard or case only?? So I don't have a keyboard/case. Im using this.
https://www.zugucase.com/products/ipad-pro-12-9-5th-gen and love it, when I'm going to work or travelling I use it with this.

Very confident they both give me maximum protection and versatility.
Same setup but a year earlier: 2020 12.9" iPP + Zugu Case. And, I carry an Apple Magic Keyboard in my bag just in case. (The keyboard was unused. It came with my iMac but I prefer using a wired Extended Apple Keyboard.)

I use a 11" 2020 Pro with an ESR Rebound soft protective case(transparent). I also use an Air 2 occasionally.

11” M1 with Apple Smart Folio. When I need to toss it in a big bag, I slide it (with Smart Folio on) into an Apple Leather Sleeve made for the 10.5” Pro…fits perfectly.

iPad Air with Smart Folio, both in blue. Looks great, works well, don’t really need anything more. I never take it off, this is the only way I use the iPad. Mostly at an angle on my lap, upright on the couch or a table.

I just received my 2021 iPad Pro 12.9” together with a Magic keyboard. This combo replaces two of my devices, an iPad Air 4 and the old 2012 Macbook Pro. While the iPad Air 4 goes to my mom, the Macbook (weak battery but still working fine!) will be retired for good.

I’m hoping Apple will give us an iPadOS native version of FCP sometime. I’d purchase Logic Pro as well- it’s still running on my (less powerful!) 2010 Mac Pro under MacOS.

iPad Mini 5 with Spigen Tough Armor TECH. I have dropped the iPad a few times, and had a heart attack each time, but the case has stopped any damage even when I accidentally dropped it on a corner.

12.9” with magic keyboard and navy smart folio. Love it! 🥰

Another vote for iPad Pro 11 M1 in Apple Smart Folio. Initially purchased the 12.9 M1 but was severely disappointed when I took it on a trip as my only computing device and found even basic productivity chores a real pain. Decided that I’d have to take my MBA anywhere to get real work done so the 11” would be a better choice. Miss the MiniLED but otherwise no regrets
