For me, I’d be happy with a new-ish iPadAir. My want list ends at 12.9” screen like my current 4th Gen iPadPro and the new iPadAir 13” fills the brief. Just no need for the other iPadPro extras, and certainly no desire to pay for them. As to cameras, we’ve had 4 iPads over the years and I can’t remember ever taking even one picture with any of them. Too cumbersome. So we use our iPhone13minis or my wife’s Nikon.

Have the IPP M4 13 inch- have no intention of changing any time soon.

I’ve only recently started getting in to doing some light photo editing, other than that it’s a media machine for me and I love it

Still rocking 2018 iPad Pro 11” though it starts to feel slower at a times and RAM starts to limit my work, but I was thinking of getting M4 1TB with nano for less than 1600€ instead of 2059€; the RAM should keep me rolling for another 6+ years even with the Apple Intelligence crap coming..

I have my trusty 2018 iPad Pro, and I don’t plan on upgrading.

The new iPads look amazing, but my current iPad does exactly what I want it to do.

What about you?
I see in your signature that you have the M4 iPad Pro now. Over a year later, just curious what made you decide to upgrade?

Hello bud.

I use my iPad every night, whilst laying in bed.

It’s probably my most used Apple device.

I have no plans on upgrading, but you know what it’s like with Apple and their marketing 😀.

I have an 8th generation iPad, but I’m now replacing it with an M3 iPad Air. Best Buy has them on sale for $150 off. I am getting a keyboard stand/cover for it, as well. I recently decided to sell my 5 year old MacBook Air, since I no longer use it much. I figured someone else could get use out of it. The new Air should do fine to fill in for both the current iPad as well as my light use cases for the MacBook. Should last me a while.

Just replaced a 2017 10.5 iPad Pro 64G w/ a 2021 iPad Pro 11" 1TB

Huge leap in performance even with the "old" 2021 Pro
It's handicapped by iOS so no way I'd buy a new one today, but I don't buy new Apple products anyway 😆

Have an M2 12.9" 2TB as my main traveling media device. But adding a new M5 iPad Pro 12.9" whenever they release it, for the Apple Pencil pro capabilities as a drawing tablet.

I have an M4 iPad Pro 13” 512GB and an iPad Mini 7 256GB. No plans on upgrading either for at least another 3-4 years.

I have 5th generation. I keep up on new iPads but have not found a single reason to upgrade. The 12.9 screen looks great and it runs all the apps I have perfectly. It is great for watching sports and the grandkids can draw on it.

Why do some folks only give a year they bought their iPad. It is irrelevant. The fact that the fifth generation iPad Pro was released in 2021 doesn’t mean I purchased it then. Maybe we need the generation, year purchased and chip configuration. I bought my 12.9 pro in 2021 on the release date. It has the M1 chip and mini led HDR display. The 11 inch just had the liquid retinal display that year. It was the best Apple product I ever purchased until this year when it was tied by my new iPhone Air.

I use the release year because iPad generations can be confusing particularly for the Pro models.

2018
iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen (A12X)
iPad Pro 11 (A12X)
iPad 6th gen (A10)

2019
iPad Air 3rd gen (A12)
iPad mini 5th gen (A12)
iPad 7th gen (A10)

2020
iPad Pro 12.9 4th gen (A12Z)
iPad Pro 11 2nd gen (A12Z)
iPad Air 4th gen (A14)
iPad 8th gen (A12)

2021
iPad Pro 12.9 5th gen (M1)
iPad Pro 11 3rd gen (M1)
iPad mini 6th gen (A15)
iPad 9th gen (A13)

2017 iPad Pro here. Still does what it is supposed to do. Hoping for a 15-inch iPad. With iPadOS 26, 15-inch makes even more sense.

Still rocking M2 iPad Pro 13" I got in November 2022. I had to fight against myself very hard to not succumb and upgrade to M4 13" Pro because I saw tandem OLED in person at one point, and the fact that the M4 is much, much lighter and thus significantly easier to hold didn't make it easier for me.

Now that M5 is presumably around the corner, I figured it might be the time to bite the bullet and just upgrade the device because I'll get a faster chip, better OLED screen, and the weight difference is also a big plus for me. Just a few more weeks before my wallet is in trouble again...

My wife and I both have the iPad (6th Gen), purchased in 2018. Both are cellular and still being used. Last year, my son needed an iPad for college and not wanting to lock him out at iOS 17 I went on eBay and got him an iPad (7th Gen) for under $200. To be fair to his sister, I got her one too a couple days later.

I still had two data lines that weren't being used, so I juggled things around and both my kids iPads have their own lines. I'll update at some point, but it's not a priority.

2020 12.9 Pro (A12Z).

I plan to upgrade this year once the M5s are announced.

Just bought the Pencil Pro on the Prime Day sale in anticipation.

11” 2022 M2 iPad Pro (there was No 2023 iPad Pro)
buying 11” 2024 1TB iPad Pro 16GB RAM 10 Core M4 Space Black (there will be no iPad Pro in 2025 maybe a mini Pro)

it’s a whole different class of machine.
LOL no iPad Pro in 2025.. declarative statement absent evidence. Just having a little fun.
