Best new feature: Worse overall UI experience VS ios8 (feel slugish and slow on iphone6).

Good job apple. At least elcapitan is better then yosemite.

The Multiverse
Better optimization for iPad including 4x4 folder pages & true multitasking. (Glad I upgraded to the Air 2 in Feb)
Speaking of iPad, the multi-touch trackpad on the stock keyboard is an amazing feature.
I also enjoy Proactive Siri, which has already learned my habit of looking at the weather when I first get my iPhone off the charger.

^ This. Deep search will be handy once 3rd party apps add the function.

One thing I hate is how iOS 9.0 GM and 9.1 PB 1 have removed the Nearby portion of the Proactive Search screen below contacts/apps and above news. They seem to have limited it to US and China only. Sucks because it was present throughout the entire beta in Canada but now gone.
HOW DID YOU REMOVE IT? i AM TRYING TO REMOVE MY CURRENT APPS FROM SHOWING WHEN i SWIPE LEFT?

Best feature: One step to 9.1, which isn't as laggy.

Seriously, though: content blocker support.

Low Power Mode is my runner up. I just wish it had an automatic option: Turn on at 20% turn off >20%. Also, I don't understand why it doesn't turn off as soon as you plug your device in.

2 things I enjoy.

1) the multitasking with iPad Air 2. Even though right now it's only multitasking with Apple apps, I still like it
2) the "Return to ....." link when you respond to a notification from a different app.

I feel like the "return to ....." link is hiding up in the corner. After years of making fun of the "back" button on android, Apple's like "oh ****, yup makes sense now."

Noticed the same thing. I thought I must've changed something and have been changing settings left, right and centre.

Curiously, all the nearby features aren't in maps for me either. I'm sure before, if I clicked the search field in Maps, I'd be presented with options for nearby things. Now there's nothing.
Also removed in Australia with the GM release.

I really appreciate the new iCloud file app accessible by home screen and Safari ability to "upload file" to website(s) through extensions, even iCloud.
No longer relegated to just images and videos.

Multitasking on iPad, on iPhone i honestly think it's the new notification center. It's such a small change but it's so, so much better than having them ordered by app.

That's just a setting, it's possible to do in iOS 8 as well.

I like that the ipad now can have like 16 apps per page in folders instead of before, and the static list of apps on the bottom is now up to 6 or so, cant remember the exact numbers but more than ios 8. they have innovated!!

I dislike that battery save mode is only temporary, it goes off after you charge the phone again. No battery save mode on Ipad.

I have found that I use the - back to - link, far more useful than I thought it would be.

Content blockers, ‘back to app’ link, showing notifications by date instead of grouped by app (huge request of mine years ago). That’s basically it.

I personally find ‘proactive’ Siri an utter disappointment. I use Touch ID to wake up my phone, so I basically never tap on the suggested app in the bottom left corner, I mostly even forget about it. The Spotlight screen has not offered anything relevant to me just yet. The apps it shows are the ones I use frequently and access over the app switcher or home screen anyway and I don’t see a point in accessing a contact when instead I can use the phone or messages app directly (third-party apps are not even mentioned there anyway and nobody uses those, right?). Maybe I find a use for it at some point, but right now the feature virtually doesn’t exist for me.

The News app is also far from useful, but I expected that before. Only a few sites I’m interested in, no way to add an RSS feed yourself and the flow of the app is really weird to me. They used different and slower animations in this app and it’s really bothering me. For instance, when you tap on an article, the article zooms in instead of sliding in from the right side like everywhere else on the system. But you can still swipe them away from the left side. It’s a bizarre design choice and it breaks the flow of the app in my opinion. I’m really getting so annoyed by Apple disregarding their own design principles, like they have a different designer for every app.

Being able to pull a drawer out from the side to have quick access to Messages while browsing Safari has become extremely useful on the iPad. Quick reply for messages has always been great, but it completely blocked out the content you were viewing before. Now you can more or less pull the app you need out like a drawer, and keep it open if you'd like...without interrupting what you're doing. PIP is also pretty nice.

On my phone I was getting used to the Double-Click from the lock screen for Wallet, as I use loyalty cards and Apple Pay daily, but it doesn't appear to be working on 9.1. I actually just created a thread about this to see if I was alone or not.

Deep linking and proactive Siri have also been great, and will only get better once devs jump on board! Despite what others are experiencing, the last beta, GM and 9.1 have all been running buttery smooth on my end. Battery could be a little better, but from what I'm seeing, it's better than other devices on the market.

Overall pretty pleased with iOS 9 this far, and it looks like it'll only get better!

Proactive Suggestion makes suggested app feature far more useful than iOS 8 counterpart.
I often use this to quickly back to the last song I am listening to, or pull out app I often use in certain time frame.
