What is the best RSS reader for OS X

Google Reader.

I know my answer has kinda strayed from your questions but im a massive fan of Google Reader over any App. Just bookmark the link on your quick links in the browser and it beats any App. Great especially if your bored at someone house, a different computer or something and you want access to your feeds. You don't get that with an App.
 
I just discovered Times this morning and so far absolutely love it it makes your RSS's into a newspaper style layout with multiple pages and the ability to save articles easily on a little board for later. It does cost $30 but there is a 15 day demo which i am using at the moment, so far it's everything i need but it may be seen as a bit pricey for an RSS reader.
 
What few feeds I have I use Apple Mail to handle. I check new posts whenever I check my mail.. easy enough!
 
I use Evernote. It's the swiss army knife of social networking and it syncs with Google Reader. Still in beta though, but it feels very mature and new features are added every week. You get a discount if you buy it before it hits 1.0.

AND its looks pretty :)

If you had followed the link you would have had your question answered many times over.

I use Vienna, but haven't tried others extensively to tell you its better than them.

I love Times too, but it's crashed a lot for me lately (since the last upgrade). Grr. I know i should probably reinstall but that's annoying, considering you need to re-import all of your feeds once you do. (When will they sync it with your Google account??) It's definitely worth it when it does work, though, especially for someone who has a fairly light amount of RSS feeds. I never really got the hang of reading feeds like you read your email, so the Times layout feels a lot more normal to me.
 
I used to use NewsFire but switched to NetNewsWire because it syncs with Google Reader and as I am about to go travelling for awhile I wanted to be able to access all my feeds from Google.
 
If you are looking for one of the best desktop RSS reader that syncs with google reader then the app you want is Gruml. Recently came out and it is awesome :D
