I'm not new to Apple products. And why use the term "fanboys"? It just cheapens your argument.

----------

Is there any evidence that consumers like negative advertising? Did the Mac versus PC ads really increase Mac sales that much?

----------

But these ads aren't saying that iPad keyboards are inferior, they're giving the impression keyboards don't exist for iPad. Also if Microsoft is so focused on tablets needing a keyboard to be useful, why are their Surface keyboards an expensive accessory? Why aren't the keyboards included with the purchase of the tablet?

"they're so focused on needing a keyboard to be useful"

Really?

I thought they were just bragging about a better option, but apparently you know better. ;)

I don't think the positive or negative messages matters, so long as it's memorable. Regardless of what you thought about the content of the Mac vs. PC ads, they did at least stick in your head. These? They're...well...they're space filler.

True. I guess the comment is more directed to those who always shout Mac vs PC whenever these threads pop up. I don't think those ads got many people to switch and I don't think these ads will either. But I do agree that these ads are, well....meh. Just like the new Amazon ad with fake Jony Ive accent to boot.

I think it's time for you to subdue the fangirl in you in favor of some actual rational thought..or to walk a mile in their shoes.

Sorry this has nothing to do with fanboy/fangirl. Heck, even comments on sites like cnet, Engadget and the Verge (not known to be full of Apple fanboys) thought these ads sucked.
