Pork is a nice sweet meat.

Depending on how you cook, or prepare it, yes, pork can be deliciously sweet.

Likewise, lamb is also a sweet meat.

For dinner, I prepared a vegetable stir-fry; a carrot sliced into sticks, two onions sliced, half a red pepper, half a green pepper, a courgette (zucchini), all cut into generous sticks, a head of garlic, generously sliced, and a dressing - sauce, which comprised of a half a cup of the following ingredients mixed together: Soya sauce, rice mirin, honey, sesame seeds, cider vinegar, and sesame oil.

Jasmine rice to accompany.

Some friends dropped off some black trumpet and lobster mushrooms they found in Wisconsin over the weekend. I dried the trumpets and tossed them in some Minnesota wild rice for dinner. Tonight will be leftovers.

With butter and garlic?

I have yet to meet a mushroom that wasn't enhanced by an introduction to butter and garlic. In generous quantities.

A sea of green
I wonder if @chown33 can query counts of heart shaped eyes likes? 😍
I've only just recently (as in, the last hour or so) worked out how to reliably get the basic counts of Posts and Likes Reaction score from the new forum pages. I don't have it coded yet (because I needed a break from hunting snarks & boojums), but at least I've figured out how to build the URL.

I did a bit of looking last night to see if there was any breakdown of what "reaction" types a given user had assigned. I didn't see anything on the Profile page, not even using my new Moderator Super-powers. If there is a count buried somewhere in the databasery, it's not available in any way I've seen.

(p.s. Don't take the  too seriously, I'm playing around with different reaction types, so I can see which things show up where (if at all).)

Try now. I just granted you super underdog authority!

This is actually breakfast out at the campsite but it could have been dinner. 😁 Soft boiled egg and New York strip steak. Chili con carne is the plan for dinner.

Any place but here or there....
All I got from that was, "They still make Kix?" I used to use Kix as a cheap bait when fishing freshwater.

I think the only American breakfast cereal I've ever consumed in large numbers was Cheerios, the plain kind, and bran flakes cereal. I'll stick with porridge or muesli for anything else.
Apparently this natural cereal company still makes Kix.:p

I've almost sworn off cereal and replaced with freeze dried fruit in nut milk, but I was having a carb crisis last week and capitulated. Fish food is about all they are good for.

Next week, I will order a lot more zucchini, tomatoes, and pears, so I can make raw noodles again.

Baking sweet potatoes, and then trying my hand at mom's lettuce and tomato sandwiches.

I really need to find the receipe for By Chloe's shiitake "bacon" - that was soooooo good. I am sure once I get a dehydrator those will become a regular thing for me to make.

In a coffee shop.
Roast chicken, onions, peppers, gravy, and new potatoes.

For once, I wasn't the chef: Actually, I was feeling unwell yesterday - a heavy cold ambushed me - and the carer's friend dropped this delicious delight over to me this evening, bless her.

Well, one of us had to fall victim to the great fall/winter colds of 2019 sooner or later, @Scepticalscribe. Feel better. If you think you'll feel very ill, you should go to A&E... and perhaps overnight your Rieslings to me.

I meant to have oatmeal for breakfast today and there was none left from the last batch, so... measured out the water and set that on the stove to get started while I hunted up the raisins and peeled an apple... was reaching for the box of oatmeal when the microwave beeped and its face turned dark... no electrical power, and i don't have a gas stove.

So yeah, Cheerios it was, with a sliced apple on the side... while the elec utility did something or other for 45 minutes. Thank goodness I'd already had my coffee.

Well at least I turned off the stove burner so I didn't fry the pot after the juice came back on. I swear one of these days I'll take that old stove back out to the barn I found it in and get a gas stove installed. At least then my life won't be about firing up a camp stove to make coffee when the power goes out.

If you do, you may need a box of matches in case the electricity goes out again.
