In a coffee shop.
Was amazing, but I couldn't finish it. As good as their burgers are the real star of the show is the wedge fries they serve there. They are somewhere between a steak fries, and potato skins. Probably my favorite fries in this area.

They give you a mountain of them so I was full about half way through.

Today is a bit cold and rainy so I did the udon set meal at the hot pot place. Lots of veggies and tasty yuzu meatballs in a gochujang citrus broth.

Not bad for $9

Now, that is much more my sort of meal. That looks absolutely mouth-watering.

Made stock the other night with all my veggie scraps, and a Costco chicken carcass.

Then tonight made the dank stock into a risotto with lemon from my friend's tree, fresh parsley, and roasted broccoli with plenty of Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Catskill Mountains
A toasted pita cut in half, stuffed w/ havarti cheese and a few sliced black olives, zoomed in the microwave for just long enough to melt the semi-soft havarti, then decorated with a tad of smoky barbecue sauce (of all things) on the way to my plate. Busy day so that was the (well, nearly) perfect solution to early evening hunger. A bowl of a hearty veggie soup was available at the reach of a jar of it in the fridge, and a couple minutes to heat it up, but I wasn't that hungry and didn't feel like wasting the time on it either. So that's lunch tomorrow already figured out...

Homemade stock is addictive, tasty, and incredibly versatile.

Looks delicious.

Tonight, I am preparing a version of Thai fish soup; onions, carrots, and around eight cloves of garlic (all organic, all roughly chopped) were sautéed until soft; then, a few chopped anchovies were added, and stirred, until they dissolved.

Next to be added was chicken stock, along with a roughly chopped chilli, and a fat, thumb of ginger, also roughly chopped. Fish sauce, (a tablespoon), brown sugar (likewise), lime leaves and lemongrass were also added to the stock.

As were cherry tomatoes, (chopped, and seasoned); I forgot that I also had a courgette, but I do have a large mug of frozen peas ready to be added to this stock.

Then, the fish, namely, some defrosted monkfish tails, suitably chopped, shall be added for a final three or four minutes of gentle cooking.

As there all be seconds for tomorrow, I may well add coconut milk then.

Rice or noodles to accompany.

Excellent choice; but I have to assume that they were washed down with some agreeable and palatable (alcoholic) beverage.

I did try but libations haven’t been agreeing with me lately. ? I’ll keep trying though. ?

? I like your minimalist style, maybe some berries next time just for fun.

Yogurt and berries? ?

We recently joined the Hawaii friends of Italy society. They teach Italian classes at reasonable rates so we signed up.

Tonight they had a pasta making event at a really posh house, with a chef from Italy teaching.

Made up fettuccine, tagliatelle, and a few other pastas from scratch. Got some good pointers, and we cooked it with his 24 hour simmered ragu.

Looking forward to the pizza class coming up, and joining the bocce league that they have.

This morning was whole wheat french toast with fresh ground cinnamon and nutmeg, with the good maple syrup.

Pasta making and a 24 hour ragu?

Sounds delicious and it also sounds as though you had a wonderful time.

Made the family favourite Souper Chicken, last night. 3 large chicken breasts, (cut into bite sized pieces) sauteed in olive oil with 6 or 7 large minced garlic cloves. Added in 2 cans of Progresso Cream of Mushroom soup and seasoned with pepper and parsley flakes. Cooked it down a bit then served it over Zatarain's long grained rice. It is amazingly yummy!
