What do you mean "no cap" but they will charge you if you go over the "limit" ?

I said eventually (sometime in the future) they will charge you if you go over a limit, but not right now. That's what all these companies are moving towards, charging you after you hit your data limit. As of right now with Comcast, there is no data limit they are enforcing in my market. Within a year I'm sure that'll change.

well what do you think a reasonable data limit would be? Steaming 1 HD movie is like 3GB

Well, I don't know what is fair, but Comcast has set a soft cap at around 300GB in markets where they are testing caps. If you go over, they charge you and give you another 10GB. I forget the charge amount.

I just wish the government would make it like a utility like electricity and water, rather than leave it with private companies. Never gonna happen in the US though.

California on Charter (err, Charter "Spectrum"). No data cap (and I hope never) with a 60Mbps down and 4Mbps up connection (actual: 50Mbps, 4Mbps). Wish we had full fiber-optic. One day, one day.

Unlimited on Virgin Media for our broadband, and unlimited with Three for my mobile phone.

Speed on broadband is 150 Mbps when you're close to the router, but a respectable 80 Mbps when you're furthest away from it. It's not unusual for us to exceed 1TB in a month, so unlimited is definitely welcome!

I used to use 2GB a month when I was on (admittedly quite slow) 3G, but now on 4G I'm using around 8 or 9GB. It's just so easy to stream video and download apps!

I'm in southeast Louisiana with Charter. I believe it's a 50/5 connection packaged along with my television and home phone we pay $150/month. I have extremely consistent speeds both up and down at any time.

I don't think there is any kind of cap or it is outrageously high. I use Netflix streaming HD content for probably 4 - 6 hours a day nearly every day of the month. This is on top of any other data we use naturally during the month.

Where I live you get something like 90-100GB limit/month . You can go higher but each 1GB will cost you $2.6. I downloaded a 7GB game off PSN, if I was over my limit, then it would have costed me $18.55 in addition to the price of the game itself!

How much do you pay?

Consider yourself lucky I pay $106 for 10/1 connection, no TV and no phone. Supposedly its unlimited but I have a good feeling if I surpass the 500GB mark they will suspend it. i already got a feeling they throttle it down after 90-100 especially with torrent files.

100mbs down, about 6 up. I pay £54 a month but that includes tele and phone too.

They did have a cap on it but it's been removed.
