Took phone off charger at 8am. When I got back from school at 4am I left my phone on charge for 20 to 30 minutes. It then went to 70 percent. I kept using it continuously since then and it's 9pm and at 46% omg. It's the OnePlus One with a 3100mah battery. What about you guys?

Well yesterday I had my GS4 (w/ standard 2600mAh battery) off charge from about 7am and by 6pm when I was walking home it was hanging on at 1% even though power saving mode had been on all day.

Usage was 'moderate', just the odd phone call, replying to messages and occasionally checking the news via the FT app.

Considering carrying around a second battery...

I have a Galaxy S3 with an extended battery (3500 mAh). My usage varies. On a working day it has no problems lasting the full day as I generally turn airplane mode on when I'm at work and just use my work phone. I always use Waze while driving, so that is the biggest drain on power. My 25-minute commute each way to and from work takes about 40% or so off the battery. I usually have enough for the remainder of the evening when I get home.

On weekends, I drive a lot more. I have to resort to using a car charger. I prefer not using it as I find it inconvenient to always plug in and out whenever I enter or leave the car. I drive to many destinations on the weekends, so plugging and unplugging the car charger is a hassel I prefer to do without. I can get away with it on weekdays, but not weekends.

SGS5 here. 2800 battery.

I get 5:30 SOT every day no matter what I do. I'm using it heavily since I've only had it for 2 weeks and it's a new toy to play with

I use about 2/3 hours of 4G and then the rest on Wi-Fi. Some days I also use the GPS for 30 minutes.

I've taken several screenshots over these past 2 weeks.

I'm very satisfied. Have absolutely ZERO problems making it through a full day.

Not bad. On a beta that for me has a weird bug that searches for network at least 7 times a day. Worked all day so standby is huge.

Iphone 5
I year old battery
I Believe around 1500 battery capacity
Auto brightness on

Rocking the Note 3 with the Anker 6400. Pretty heavy user and Clash of Clans just kills battery life.

I start using it at 7 am and by the time I'm home at 5pm it's around 65% left most days.

Usage is Moderate to Heavy. Happy overall.

HTC One (2013)
2300 mAh
SOT - 4-5 hrs overall
Gaming - 3-5 hrs
Wi-Fi - 4-5 hrs
Videos - 6-7 hrs
Texting - 6.5 hrs
Conserve CPU - OFF
Brightness - 20%/35%

Xiaomi Mi 3 (2013)
3050 mAh
SOT - 7-10 hrs overall
Gaming - 5-6 hrs
Wi-Fi - 7-8 hrs
Videos - 10 hrs
Texting - 10 hrs
High Performance mode
Brightness - 25%/40%

I usually carry both, so I can get 8-14 hrs SOT between them. Usually about 10-11 hrs combined if I Wi-Fi, download videos, and text all day. Also NO POWER SAVING options for me. I didn't get these phones to be CPU throttled down to under 1.1 GHz. There is a noticeable lag to both when opening apps esp the Mi 3. I only switch it on to help standby time overnight and if I don't plan using either for awhile. I didn't get them to experience Moto G speed.

Most of my toggles are usually off if I'm not using them. I close background apps alot. I have the Mi 3 mostly on 2G networks. No background syncing and push notifications switched on with either. Greenify helps the M7 from Viber's wakelocks. I only use two modes of brightness depending where I am at. Nomore autobrightness because I noticed on the M7 it can kill battery faster by being so overly sensitive and Lux didn't help me much either.

So 10-11 hrs SOT is good enough for me with 8 hrs as a low-end and 14 hrs a high point. I usually need only 7-8 hrs SOT on most days. And yes, I do charge both almost every day. Charging it all the way down to under 20% every day is bad they say. I charge it anywhere from 30%-50%. I always want to be sure I have enough the following day. One day I might only use 3-4 hrs SOT. The next day could be 10-12 hrs.

Had no idea there was an official extended battery from Samsung. Does it make the device much thicker?

I'll look for it on eBay to check it out. Looks great.

Its not much thicker and you can almost fit the old back cover on with the bigger battery.

It does add some weight to the phone though .its about as heavy as a note 3 now.

My best SOT on the HTC was 7 hrs and 45 min which was looping videos overnight.

My best SOT on the Xiaomi was 10 hrs and 19 min under High Performance mode mostly videos, texting, and less than 2 hrs Wi-Fi. The Battery Saving could probably improve it to maybe an extra 40 min or 7-8% increase but I hate the 1 second lag when apps open. GSMArena was generally accurate that Wi-Fi is about 8 hrs and 10hrs video playback on the Mi 3.

Right now, I am at near 40% with close to 5 hrs SOT mostly Wi-Fi, downloading videos via TubeMate which kills battery faster, texting, and a few calls. Should finish around 7 hrs with 10% left like yesterday. The HTC is at 69% with near 2 hrs SOT while on airplane mode. I monitor my SOT like a hawk with either with Wakelock Detector or MIUI's battery usage menu. I don't use GSam Battery Monitor because the RAM is high and Du Battery offers a little more including providing SOT with similar RAM use. I just updated my PvZ game on both, so I probably will kill the battery faster later tonight.

OnePlus One from what I've been told really does have amazing battery life. Jon Rettinger even said so. PhoneArena ranked it only behind Sony Xperia Z2 back then. Best smartphone value of the year even with its flaws. Better than Nexus 5 or Moto X of last year. About 8-11 hrs SOT should be normal for you depending on your uses for each day.

Nexus 5, light to medium usage. I taken it off the charger at 5:30am and by 5:00pm it is around 20%. It stinks. I can't wait to replace it.

It all depends on how I use it.

I have the galaxy S5 and I'm using the standard OEM battery.

With moderate usage I get about 1.5 days on a single charge.

With medium to heavy usage I get about 20 hours with 4-5 hours screen on time.

I can easily get through my working day on a single charge and use the phone as much as I want.

However battery life doesn't bother me that much as I carry a spare battery around with me that I can just pop in if I ever need to. However although I've had my phone for 4 months now I've only used the spare battery a handful of times.

My OEM 3500 mah Samsung extended battery is broken in and is giving me fantastic battery life.

Im close to getting two full days of power using the cell and never using WiFi and staying on 4g the whole time
