as a new Mac user with a mini ....I am using my old flat screen windows clunker for now , the wife was disappointed when she heard we were getting a Mac she expected the 27" imac I guess , She saw the old display and said ' where is the Mac"? of course I explained about the mini and she was not impressed
I think that is the experience of a lot of folks ...you go to the Apple store and you see all the big glossy displayed 'Macs' .
I am wondering what displays you guys use ?

I use the 27 iMac monitor, a 24 apple cinema display at work and an 11 inch macbook airs display on the move.

With my Mini I am using my old Apple Cinema Display; still kickin. At work on my Dell T3500 workstation I use a Samsung SyncMaster 2494.

I also use an old 23" Apple Cinema Display. Will use it until it dies (or I just can't adapt it anymore).

A.

quite a selection , how do you connect ?
I use the hdmi ..the Apple thunderbolt looks good but at 1K a bit pricey

I use a 21.5" Dell u2211h and a 17" Samsung SyncMaster 172x (6.5 years and still going strong!).

If you end up going the Dell route, make sure to stay tuned to this thread for the latest compatibility news.

Samsung 22" 1680x1050 4 years old, 226BW

I liked this monitor originally but now don't like how the relatively low pixel density makes everything look too big and grainy.

I'm transitioning from using a 15" notebook with the same 1050 vertical pixels and become accustomed to the higher pixel density, and now want more pixels in a 22 or 23" display for Mini. So looking for a good new monitor with 1920x1080 (or more but I guess not available at 22-24").

I might get a smaller monitor 21 or 22" to get the illusion of more sharpness, plus I wear bifocals which makes looking around a big monitor slightly tiring, due to the limited angular range of clear vision with these glasses.

I'm curious...how are you guys doing dual monitor on the Mini? Not that I care that much. With spaces/mission control I prefer a single monitor.

I have Samsung 226BW too and exactly the same thought to change the display for higher DPI.

But when I have tried this under terminal, I think it's good to use for some time.

Code:
defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2

LG W2261V (21.5" matte screen) connected through the DVI connection since the HDMI cable is too stiff and does not allow the Mac mini sitting pretty close to the wall.

Because of deteriorating eyesight I cannot use a glossy screen (very tiring on the eyes).

I have vario lenses (a form of bifocals) and can just manage with those - sometimes when I am getting tired I use some single strength reading glasses.

Yes I'm doing almost the same thing, but using "...AppleFontSmoothing -int 3" for even more smoothing on this slightly low-res monitor.

also working on a lower res samsung monitor, going to try this one.
the sync master 2223NW

btw, is there a monitor that allows use of brightness-adjustment with keyboard keys?
