Do you know what this franchise needs? It needs Ridley Scott to be removed from it entirely, and for Niell Blomkamp to make his interpretation, to make it a 3 to 4 hour spectacular, keeping the same theme, mix it up a little but not a lot, to hire competent known actors and actresses, to give it a massive budget, and to not change the ******* God damn Alien! Again!… forget the goo forget the injections…. Give us Colonel Marines and Pulse Rifles! And scary closed corridors WITHOUT the stupid camera angles..
Scott still has the eye, but plot wise not a clue as doing more harm than good. He cocreated a masterpiece and has been seemingly on a path of disassembly & destruction for years.

Give Blomkamp the reins and keep Scott out, best Alien film never made is Isolation prime for the picking...Working on tuning up that bad boy to be more vicious, but as of now it will rip you a new one in a heartbeat...

Sounds like Money grab…
Think the intention is good, is an OK Sci-Fi film but it's not Alien, Aliens or 3. Better than Covenant admittedly that's not saying much. Watch & see then let me know, is an OK film at the right price and it has a level of depth.

Rec you watch the WW1 short on YT is way better. That said Romulus is well acted, it's growing on me. Is on the right track, well first 3 acts, 4th falls down as Ridley Scott's Black Goo spoils everything same as Covenant...

Has a lot going on, Navarro's prayer is very telling and sets the scene for those that understand.

They're not movies, but they're feature length direct to video. Anyhow, I've been binge watching some animated Batman direct to video "movies" and I have to say I quite enjoyed them. They don't deviate from the comics.😍

Next on my list is Batman: The Killing Joke.

seen actual stuff like this on Youtube, super sad.

Prometheus had an interesting tack and needed a sequel, instead we got Covenant which was just a bad joke AKA retards in space, just garbage that was well shot...

Prometheus lifted my hopes way up there and then crashed them down (Covenant), laughing at me the whole way... although I was braced for disappointment, and I got what I expected, after reading some reviews prior to seeing.

He really did not want to launch into a new chapter for this franchise, engineers their motivations, our possible interaction with them. He just poured black goo on them and said "forget them, I want to keep retreading spring loaded mandibles..." 👎

I feel Scott wanted to make an Ancient Aliens film, however even with his clout he couldn't get it off the ground so rolled it up in the Alien universe. He should have stuck to his guns as Prometheus was an interesting offshoot and deserved a sequel. Covenant is just a pile of garbage acted out by planks of wood, but it looks pretty...

As for the Black Goo worst lazy screen writing, as it's now just a plot convivence/device for anything they want to happen, but cant really explain in an intelligent manner. Ridley Scott should have kept well out of Alien as it was the perfect film and not meddled with the lore. Explaining the unknowable simply breaks everything set up in the original trilogy and inferior on multiple levels.

Romulus is better than Covenant, equally not an Alien or Aliens, just better. Well first three acts... Also should be considered that Romulus was never intended as a full theatrical feature and was intended to go direct to streaming so I can forgive some of it's missteps.

TBH the WW1 Alien fan film on Youtube is better as it actually has some imagination. Romulus is very much a formulaic fan service film following a well trodden path, it's OK and will hopefully spark something better. Predator got it right with Prey, a completely different direction that both surprised & entertained.

The obvious film to make is Isolation, game hit's like a freight train. Connects with Ellen Ripely and is utterly terrifying in places, nightmare fuel... Working on the Alien's A.I. want it to be utterly & absolutely relentless & unforgiving, getting close. As it is the Alien will shred you in a heartbeat, most definitely not for the faint of heart...

Anyone who has watched the 1979 film knows what happens to Dallas. The Alien does that in the modified game now, is both terrifying & shocking, very fast and surprisingly the A.I. adopts well the new values. The Alien relies on two separate A.I. systems, want it to be the same as the first film. Is very close now and very dangerous, you wont survive an encounter with this... Decisions count, the Alien can be used to your advantage if your smart.

As you know I tried AI (Alien Isolation game) twice, the second time, I got farther, I was not scared, but came to terms again, that this kind of tension was not worth the dreams that result in my case. Partially I think because of my age. I got those dreams in my 40s but then had more tolerance for horror and tension. :) These days if I screen a game listed as horror or psychological horror, I skip it just about automatically, although I considered that fairly recent Colonial Marines game, it had some bad reviews as I recall, and I’d play the Starship Troopers game, because there I’m armed and dangerous. :)

As far as movie franchises, I feel the same about Star Wars as I do about Aliens, move forward damn you! Stop recycling! 😳

You dont want to play my version of the game, the Alien is dialled up to eleven. It's seriously dangerous, as you know I have a lot of hours in Alien Isolation. It will tear you apart and if you want to survive you best be on your toes...

I'm diametrically the opposite as horror attracts, nor so far behind you in terms of age. As for Star Wars what a pile of garbage that's become...:( Quit watching years ago, just trash, you couldn't pay me to watch it today...

I’ve played through that one once I think. Ending was a bit meh. But every time the Alien got me after the first 2 or 3 times it’s not scary, just darn annoying and I was telling it where to go in colourful language haha 😂🤣😂. Very clever game though, shame it hasn’t had a sequel, yet, but I think one is in the works? Would certainly make a good film, however very VERY rarely does a game translate to the big screen well.

Time to tune it up, plays differently, looks better... The Alien wont be on you so much, however it's far more natural & hostile in nature, dangerous in the extreme, like the 79 film. If your up for more horror play this. Alien Isolation 2 is in progress

The best film ever translated to a game to be produced. Working on the A.I. again, want the Alien to be as disturbing as possible. Getting close, last play it did a "Dallas" on me, that was unexpected! Very frightening, it dragged my avatar out of a vent and tore it a new one. Yeah think have the disturbing aspect in the bag  The Alien takes no prisoner's in this game, is a WIP so not released and very much heart attack fuel...

Is that on the Mac? Or PC.

PC, but should work on the Mac as has no dependency on the OS. Try and see, dont see any reason why the mod pack wont work on macOS.

Apple Silicon prefer to run natively, got that covered... What Game You play'n Latest is Quake, all the new updated & enhanced DLC's thx to vkQuake  If you want to know how, you know what to do.

Via Peacock my wife and I took a break from USA election night .. and watched the Fall Guy.
Did not know directors cut was 20m longer, ugh. Too long, not really engaging as a movie. The 81% rotten tomatoes gave me hope, meh, I’d recommend pass.

Spoiler
If your patient enough the very last end credit scene does homage to the original TV series

How was it?

I liked the book, but has steered clear of this one because of mediocre IMDB ratings and terrible Rotten Tomatoes reviews.

I'm more inclined to see the 1966 (?) version, but haven't found it on any of our available streaming services...
That's the one I was thinking of when I used the ❤️ above...and would be interested in seeing that one again.

Listed, but not available on Prime.
