Wait for the iBooks to get Intel processors. By the time the iBooks go Intel, there will probably be Universal binaries of the products you want, and if the iBook Intel's specs aren't high enough, you can always get an iMac. But you're 13, it'd be fun to take it to school, right?

Get a 17" iMac G5, with 1GB of RAM.

That way you have a nice powerful desktop machine, plus the option to get a low-speced iBook at a later time for portable tasks.

Regarding Fireworks vs. Photoshop, while I too prefer Fireworks, since Macromedia is now owned by Adobe, Fireworks will likely be phased out. You will get more out of learning Photoshop moving forward.
Noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! I love fireworks and I never want to switch!!!!!!!!!! Oh well :(
