Let's start it off...

Preemptive warning- I'm not bashing Android but I just don't want hypocrisy from them. If Apple copies so does Google.

This is very true regarding the idiots saying that I/O was amazing( which it was)

IOS 5 had the lock screen notifications that L just got, we have health kit, home kit, there already is Apple TV, Apple already has deals with car manufacturers and have iOS in the car, Airplay has been here since iOS 4 so Android was just catching up with today's announcements. Only thing Apple hasn't shown off yet? iWatch and the rumours of that are intensifying.

Copying good, hypocrisy bad.

You won't get much feedback posting something like this on Alternatives forum, but then if you post this in iOS forum it will get move to here.

The reason for the double standard I believe is because Apple sues, google doesn't.
Copying is great for users

I love it, I've always wanted the lock screen type notification stuff for my phone.

To be fair the number of lawsuits have decreased immensely composed to under Steve. In fact do you hear about new law suits? I think we are just seeing old lawsuits initiated by Steve ending.

No way, the iOS fanboys will make me cry with their fanboyism. At least here I can hope for some objectivity from people like MacRumourUser.

What? no one is gonna say Google copied apple?

Perhaps that's because some of us don't give a tinker's damn about all these comparisons.

We buy what we like, and what serves our needs...whoever makes it...and don't care about that other nonsense.

Just one indifferent man's opinion...:)

I full well understand your point, I truly agree, but did you see post WWDC here? It was a hate fest and I'm sick of the hypocrisy.

Also the heads up notifications and the notification syncing with chrome os, all copied from Apple. As well as the battery saver mode from WP8.

Really? You'd rather get one sided responses from Android users than iOS or both sides, what's the point then.

Ah man, why start a whole thread on the one subject matter that keeps ruining so many other threads :(

Everyone copies and everyone is guilty of hypocrisy. What really matters in the end is who gives us the best version of a given feature, no matter who invented it or who claims they invented it. Poking this sore spot only brings out a ton of negativity.

I, too, am quite indifferent; in fact I don't really care. Ford invented the mass production assembly line and everyone else copied and made cars that way too. No biggie to me at all.

No one cares who copies who. That's not the point.

The point is that Apple copies just as much as any other company and then they turn around and sue others for using the features they copied from others.

If Apple could copyright the concept of breathing air and the concept of lifting weights, they would do so in a heartbeat.

Not from what I've seen. It would certainly be nice to have, thankfully Paranoid Android uses the CM theme engine.

Gonna install the preview? I might.

Yes you are right...they designed, developed and deployed all these so called copied ideas all in the time since Apple announced them. Not only that but in some cases they have made significantly more progress than Apple have. Not bad for what you are claiming is a few months work!

Most of the instances where Apple was accused of copying were for features that had been in Android for YEARS....and most people citing these instances only did so to point out the hypocrisy of Apple for their barrage of lawsuits whilst at the same time doing exactly the same thing they were suing others for.

Your whole thread is an obvious troll.

You cannot sue for just a feature. You can sue for an implementation. Also, who is not to say that said copied features and such are not getting licensed, or that they have successfully patented what has been copied? Also, quite frankly Google needs to play nice with others because of co-dependence. Remember when Apple ditched Google Maps as a default program <chuckles> and Google lost 1/4 of their US mobile user base (at the time) for Maps?

How long are we gonna have to deal with this kinds of threads??

I remember this same conversation like 5 years ago... Still more?

Why not let it go?

Who cares if Google, Samsung or Apple copy each other??

This topic was boring 5 years ago and now it's even more boring.

Let's just forget about this topic and better talk about more interesting stuff, ok?

Or every time there's an update are we gonna bring back this subject???
