MP 7,1 What? No Optical Drive???

Just throwing out some humor as this forum has become quite dead over the past few days.

Here's a blast from the past. I did a poll in 2017 asking how many wanted a 5.25 bay in the mMP:

Mac Pro 5,1 has most of the ports and options listed. Dual optical, USB, FireWire. There isn't good way to add vga or serial but if you got a hackintosh you'd get those ports on server motherboard even today. You could possibly hookup an iomega scsi adapter using a PCIe SCSI adapter even on the new Mac Pro and you could also hookup a USB floppy assuming Catalina would read it. You could hookup an ADB keyboard with a USB adapter.

You can buy an OWC external optical drive enclosure for $50 which isn't too bad on top of a new $6k+ Mac Pro.
