Okay, admittedly I stole this idea from the other post asking what type. But I'm curious about type and screen size so....

iPad Air 4th generation with the 10.9" screen. It's the perfect size for what I need. A larger screen would be bulky so I might as well use a laptop and a smaller screen like the mini is too close to my Pro Max size iPhone.

12.9" since it first became available, worth the slightly larger size/ weight to me, though the squared edges on the current design language do make it less comfortable to hold, that wasn't something I was expecting coming from the rounded first gen!

New convert to 12.9. I've been hesitant since I basically use it as a tablet almost 100% of the time. The weight takes some getting used to but I think I've already adjusted since getting it on Friday. I'm loving this big, beautiful mini-LED screen. I'll probably never go down in size. Though I hope the OLED rumors are true. Among other things, it should allow for a lighter, thinner device.

12.9" and I think it would be very difficult to go smaller in the future.
My ipad 2 still gets occasional use now and again (9.7").

My busy 10.5” (missing from poll) with Smart Keyboard lives on my kitchen table. The mini 6 is for lounging and reading.

Because of previous misinformation, my girlfriend thinks she is using a 12.9" but it's really an iPad mini. I don't know how to break it to her without humiliating myself.

I prefer the 11" iPad Pro myself.

I really like small tablets. The mini was the perfect form factor but it just doesn't have enough RAM, so I had to settle for 11 inches for my upgrade. I found out I like the 11-inch style even better. It's a good compromise of portability and screen estate.

You will not catch me dead with a 12.9 inch, though. That would be horrible to lug around.

I use 12.9” for work and mainly 10.9” for personal use (but also a 9.7” next to my bed).

My 12.9" has never left the house in 7 years.....;)
Plus surely it would be no different than lugging a 13" MacBook around...?

That was a huge deciding factor in getting another iPad for portability, the 12.9 is great but sometimes it’s just “too big”. I remember taking my 12.9 on the plane from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, it was much bigger than I thought, and as soon as the person in front of me decided to recline their seat back, I couldn’t have the iPad sit in the tray table anymore, I physically had to angle the keyboard and rest part of the keyboard against my body, that was it for me.

I've not had any interest in a smaller model since getting the original! Maybe it would be different if I was taking it with me all the time, but generally I'd be taking my phone, or phone and laptop out of the house. I don't know how much thinner they could realistically go (the M1/M2 are a smidgen thicker than the original A12X version of this design, but it's literally a fraction of a mm, 6.4 vs 5.9!) I would probably welcome a redesign to curved edges though, even if the square edges are popular for how they look. I've previously said I prefer the mini LED tech to OLED, but having seen ProMotion on the iPad vs the iPhone I think I'd now take OLED for the much better response times.

Wow the 11 inch and 12.9 inch are tied. This is so exciting! More 12.9's than I thought. Although this forum may not be an accurate cross section of all iPad owners. I'd have to guess they sell more 11 inchers.

I have had the 12.9 since it’s introduction by Apple in 2015 except for the first generation 11 inch model and then I went back to the 12.9 there after to this day I have the 2021 12.9 256 it may be a year or two before I actually upgrade. I feel there are no limitations on this current model and the battery life is still amazing.
