I never thought I’d say this as devout fan of the 4.7 inch iPhones, but my favourite size it’s the XR now, it’s amazing how you adjust...holding a standard 7/8 seems tiny now!

I like the size of my iPhone 8 but I think the size of the iPhone Xs is also pocket-friendly enough. The iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone Xr are too big for putting into jeans.

None of the models listed for a choice are comfortable to me to be hold long enough for an extended on a time. As much as I’m used to the ‘Plus’ model iPhones and the Max, they’re not generally really that comfortable to hold/manipulate one-handed or even carry in the pocket. The iPhone SE would probably be one of the *best* iPhones I’ve ever used in terms of comfortability and portable without being obtrusive when carrying it.

Have been on plus size iPhones from the start, but mainly for the extra battery (though the screen is nice, particularly the wider KB). I think if I go with a X style phone eventually (not in a hurry) I’d probably go for the 5.8” as the battery is approaching plus territory and I don’t think I’d have too much trouble adjusting to the smaller screen.

I'm currently using a 6+ and don't mind the size at all. When I upgrade it will most likely be the XS Max sized 2019 iPhone.

I like the 3.5 or 4-inch display size, one-handed use is great for me since I don't watch movies or anything on my phone.

Agreed. I'd been using 4.7" phones since release day of the 6, and I was always satisfied with that size. I was never really tempted by the Plus phones. But for my latest upgrade, I ended up going with a Max (long story...part of it is that I got a surprisingly good price through my company). I've only had it for two days, but I think I've already become accustomed to the size. Took, like, an hour to adjust. It's weird...the Max is clearly so much bulkier than my old 7, which I expected to bother me...but it really doesn't.

And yes, holding it next to the 7 makes the latter look so small.

I miss my 7 for day to day uses but I do enjoy the 8 plus screen size for watching videos. The XR is right in the middle of those so I'm hoping it's the perfect size for my hands and gives me good screen viewing. It bugs me that it has limited features though so I might go with an XS when it's time to upgrade next year.

Voted for XS despite being the owner of an XR...

To be honest I would rather want an iPhone 8 chassis with the full screen design from the X-versions.

My iPhone history has been this: original - 3GS - 4S - 5C - SE(64GB) - XR - SE(128GB).

After a few months liking the XR as a device but not as a phone, I went into the refurb/clearance and picked up that 128GB SE. Then I swapped the XR's SIM into the SE and relegated the XR to a very classy WiFi device that I now call "my narrow iPad mini". I use it every day at home but never ever have to try to stick it in a pocket or use it as a phone.

In the poll I picked the XR since I did choose it as my next phone over the smaller XS.

Is color "a feature"? I was hell bent on upgrading from an SE this cycle in case future phones got even bigger than the X models and Apple stuck an early EOL on the SE. So really it was just about the sunny yellow color that sold in the XR for me. Heck I'd have stuck with my green 5C if they'd kept that line up and bumped the spec. The SE's metal was a compromise for me and it was definitely all about size. Since the SE is still supported I'm happy in having reverted to using that as my real phone, albeit the larger capacity one that I got in February.

Smaller and colorful is my next phone. Maybe a retro dumb phone. :D Remember the Juke?

In the meantime as far as iPhones I've owned, the XR device is wonderful except for the size. An SE-sized XR the next time around with whatever bump the XR would get, and I'd be a repeat upgrader for sure. Usually I skip a cycle.

There's no size choice given I would choose. I'm using an SE now, after owning an original, a 4S, a 5S, a 6S Plus, but finally found that the old 5S / SE size is a refreshing change from a phone that is WAAAAY too big.
Totally agree Mark Holmes!!!
