I think the new pad will have a card slot that can give additional storage. That way it's up to the owner on how much he wants to pay for the additional space. I hope by 2011 the price for flash cards goes down some more. I would want a file system that all the apps can access so things don't have to be in two or more places at a time. I don't need a camera but I can see it will have to have one to compete and I would love USB drives. Yes, I have the camera kit/card reader but would rather it be part of the system. In the end, more power, as much GB as it can fit.

You can't use flash cards for running software from because the memory isn't fast enough. It's too slow to be used reliably. This is why Apple only gives you a card reader.

I'm good with the 32GB model when the iPad 2 comes out because I really don't think I will need anything bigger. Can someone who wishes to purchase the 256GB model (however unlikely they are manufacture one) explain what you would need with all that space?

Obviously not everyone will need all that space, but I personally have around 50GB of music, roughly the same again in photos, and so on with other files and a rapidly growing app collection and their relevant files. -Each issue of Wired magazine alone takes up 200MB+ each, and it would be nice to have enough space to keep them all downloaded for reference. My files altogether total over 256GB, so If anything, I don't think i'll be happy with even a 256GB version, but it would definitely be easier for me than juggling with the current max of 64GB.

And I do appreciate that not everyone thinks of the iPad as a laptop replacement, but that's personally how I use mine. So it would be nice to be able to fit all my files onto it.

as more and more things move to the cloud/streaming.. personally I would prefer more features at the same price point(gps in all models, retina display, facetime camera) rather than crazy abouts of space...
