About 62 Degrees F.

You don't want to know what a heating bill is for a 4000sq ft house with 9ft ceilings as well as cathedral ceilings.

It's always so cold in here.

between 63-65, unless people are coming over, and then i'll go up to 70 because they complain

Here in AZ we don't usually heat or condition our house at all. One or two rooms have a window-mounted AC unit, and we have some space heaters for the winter, but in general the temps in our home fluctuate from 50F to 110F depending on the time of year and the time of day. During summer afternoons, it can be pretty intolerable to sit in the westernmost part of the house!

I can't believe how warm some people heat their homes. Mine's set to 16.5 right now, only because I'm wearing shoes and a wooly top, and I feel just right.

Bizarre... or I'm just hot-blooded.

I want to have it around 19°C and even a bit less in the bedroom**.

My girlfriend wants it to be at least 23°C and preferably the same in the bedroom.

So we compromise and keep it around 23°C...

** Back when I was young and single I used to sleep with the window open all night, every night, all year around... until the night the water in the glass at my night stand was frozen to the bottom when I woke up... after that I started closing it during the worst of the Winter... ;)

It seems like a lot of people here keep it in the low 70s F. To me this is too warm, so I try to keep it between 64 F and 68 F. While it may seem too cold to some, it's perfect for me (and not too bad on the heating bill, either).

Right now I have it at 61 F. In the winter I like to keep it on the cool side and wear a sweater or something.

I was at the library today and they must have been in the high 70's or something. Personally I find that really uncomfortable in the winter. You'd think the library, which is broke enough as it is, would want to save some money by turning down the heat a little.

edit: just noticed this is also post #61 :)
