More important question, will anyone actually notice the difference between the mini led displays in the upcoming iPad pros compared to the panels in the current pros.

Reckon you won’t be able to tell the difference.

Jon Prosser said Logic, FCP etc. would eventually come to the iPad "in the next year or so" last April I think. Now that FCP etc. have been redone to work on M1, they can easily work on iPad too. So I'm hoping to see that soon. More power and RAM is never a bad thing.

The best and fastest processor will enable your iPad to last for many years. I'm still using a 2014 iPad Air 2 and it's still supported for iOS 14, but my plan is to get one of the new iPad Pro's that I'm assuming will be announced at the yet to be confirmed March event. It's lasted a good time, but I think it's well worth an upgrade now. I didn't upgrade my iPhone last year so I could justify this purchase. I think 7 years for an iPad and still under current iOS software is a good run.

I would love to see Final Cut Pro come to the iPad Pro.

If this article is true https://appletrack.org/2021-ipad-pr...&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost, and I suspect it is - it would amount to a colossal waste of horsepower. Why put a processor on par with M1 in a tablet with only 6GB RAM and a hamstrung operating system? Less than 1% of iPad Pro users barely tax the X12 family. Unless...... you give this thing 8GB of RAM and some real Pro apps (Logic, Final Cut, Xcode)... or go really big and let the iPad Pro dual boot Big Sur (minus touchscreen).
Speak for yourself. I like more power and more memory and more the better. Whether I use it or not, I may or may not but having it is always welcome.

Enthusiasts like us here on macrumours will probably notice an improvement in colour reproduction etc, but the mainstream public may not immediately notice. Its like with the LCD and OLED iphone screens, some people cannot tell the difference but others can see it clearly.

to me the difference is more noticeable than pro-motion vs no pro-motion. Having said that, I really notice when they are side by side... Where they are not, I don't really care.... as I don't care about pro-motion...
