Sorry if my post was all over the place..I had just confronted someone that was a friend after I caught him trying to steal and hack my iPhone via my hotspot. He would get all secretive and try to hide what he was doing..but out of the corner of my eye I saw another device and snapped a picture. Turns out it was an M5Stack Cardputer which traditional used for ways to compromise someone’s Wi-Fi, can track you.. and other things.. anyways long story short. I confronted him and he played dumb saying he didn’t know what I was talking about.. so me being the nice guy and trying to help remember, I showed him the picture I took. From there he got defensive and then said that’s his iPhone. I was amazed especially when he tried pointing things the iPhone has I started laughing and figured I’ll help again so put them side by side and still held his ground as I put my cell in airplane mode. So yea trying to hack my iPhone and I guess he has a prototype for iPhone to come. Lol what should I do? Suggestions?

Sounds like this "friend" is bad news and you should avoid them as much as possible. If you can't (coworker or something), get a "burner" phone so he has nothing to steal. If THAT doesn't work, I'd lock down your primary phone anyway and get the boys in blue involved. I wouldn't put up with that crap AT ALL in today's world.

I just can’t fathom how he thinks he isn’t Bi busted. And by lying about it to me shows me that the person that Was being targeted was me…otherwise why lie…we’ve talked shut tough topics before . It’s a Shame because I helped him a lot when nobody would…thought we had a solid friendship built but all it was meant to be if a distraction so he wouldn’t get caught. That teaches me a life Leson: never leave your iPhone alone & not everyone has good intentions.

No, you can’t easily hack an iPhone from the shared hotspot. It’s near impossible for the average Joe/Hacker.

This guy is no friend if he’s doing nefarious things like this to you. Dump him as a friend and report him to the police. Press charges on him, he belongs in jail.
