We've not been able to use certain iOS 10 features to this point. Siri 3rd party app integration, iMessage apps (I'm not going to count 35 yr old emoji here!), etc... I'm curious what others are looking forward to most among those features, apps?

For me, its whatever iMessage apps hit the app store right out of the gate. Can't wait to see what kind of innovation will go on in that space. A bit less excited for Siri integrated apps, but only because they seem so limited.

I'm holding out a little hope for a Dark mode reveal in the GM to compliment the new Space Black and "Piano Black" color options. Beyond that, I'm excited to see what developers can do with Siri integration.

Also.... NEW WALLPAPERS!!!!

Dark Mode
Customisable Control Centre
More Force Touch implementations and customisable force touch options.

All completely irrelevant to this thread. The OP clearly stated not publicly available yet features of iOS 10 and then proceeded to give an example of third party Siri integration. None of the features you mentioned are iOS 10 features.

OP: I am also looking forward to Siri integration. Also iMessage integration. Looking forward to seeing all of the possibilities developers come up with.

Thanks... And you're 100% correct: I'm not looking for a wish list of things that did not make it into iOS 10, but rather those capabilities of the OS or related platforms (iMessages) that were called out in the Keynote or supporting materials, but which have not been turned on yet or for which we are awaiting app releases, which cannot occur until general release of iOS 10. In addition to the 2 I mentioned, other examples are the peer to peer payment capability within Siri or the food ordering apps in iMessages.

I'm curious to see how VoIP calling integration will work out.

I wish when I was in a FaceTime call on the iPhone and I need to make a phone call to someone real quick I could do that from the iMac or iPad, without it always failing and requiring me to hang up on FaceTime first.

Force touch notifications and raise to wake.

Siri and iMessage app integrations sound awesome, but it's hard for me to visualise at the moment. It will be cool to be able to whatsapp or telegram my friends directly using Siri, and the ability to order food or summon an uber from iMessage sounds great. Again, I will have to see the implementation.

Aren't those already available in the betas that people have been using?

I installed the beta on my 5s. Don't dare to do it on my 6S+ as it is my daily driver, so I have not been able to get the full benefits just yet. Just the new bubbly notifications, HomeKit, Apple Music widgets, slide left to access camera and a few other minor features here and there.

I am impressed by the improved fluidity on my 5s. Can't wait to see what performance improvements it brings to my 6s as well.

I see what you are saying. It seems though that the thread is talking about features that haven't been seen by anyone yet in practice--those that have been mentioned as being in iOS 10 but haven't been avilable in betas so far.

Force touch has been there since iOS9, not sure what rock you've been living under. They have been expanded in iOS 10 but clearly could have been more. Take a seat and proceed to take several chill pills.

Can we try to compile a list of features that require third party apps to update to take (full) advantage of?

So far touched on in this thread:
  • iMessage apps
  • Siri for apps (7 domains: ride booking, messaging, photo search, payments, VoIP calling, workouts, climate and radio)
  • Rich notifications
  • VoIP call integration (incoming call screen, recents etc.)
Here's another:

  • Maps extensions

I've never been able to get a clear understanding here: are those of us on non 3D touch devices going to get some enhancement to notifications after release that we haven't seen yet? I've seen a couple of references like that, but it may be more wishcasting on my part than anything else.

From what some are saying, you will still get the features, but it's with a tap + hold gesture instead of via 3D Touch.

you can see the force touch rich notifications on non-3d touch devices by swiping and tapping view. for stock apps like messages.

what will come after release is 3rd party apps taking advantage of rich notifications. for non-updated apps it just shows the non-rich notification at the moment.

I'm all about UI, so i like the little UI changes.
Are there some additional ones that have been demonstrated or talked about as being in iOS 10 but haven't been in the betas so far?

Well i was looking forward to Square Cash integration with Siri/iMessage, but it recently started charging a fee for instant transfers.

Did they really? Thats annoying. I hope Chase QuickPay will be integrated. It already uses a phone number or email address. Would work really well.

Dislike or disbelieve has absolutely nothing to do with the reason why I called it irrelevant. It is 100% irrelevant to the thread and even the OP agreed.

Indeed. I went to back to Chase Quick Pay as well. It's a little more inconvenient: login>navigate to Quick Pay>send payment>wait for person to accept payment, but it is instant and free.

Nothing that hasn't already been said here but I'd love if Chase Quick Pay was enabled with Siri as my gf and I bounce money back and forth a good few times a year. It's not like it's hard to use as it is but just picking up your phone and telling it to send $100, putting it back down and forgetting about it feels a bit futuristic, doesn't it? The kind of thing you would have seen or read in sci-fi just a few years ago.

Also, the Phone integration piece. Phone.app being able to pull in this functionality from 3rd party apps essentially as services will make communicating with people over a few 3rd party apps a bit less of a pain. I wonder if Facetime.app will get the same super powers on iPad?
