Bought it will the ads were still frequent on tv. Never heard of an iPod until that time.
My gf has it now and still works fine! Even has a row of dead pixels going across the top part of the screen lol :D

Fantastic little computer; it was my main machine until 2002, although I did use my father's newer Acer then Dell to explore the WWW.

Perhaps it's nostalgia-related, but I always liked the design. Fully touch based may have been annoying at times given the lack of tactile feedback, but it was very cool at the time. And the red backlit buttons looked cool.

I had an iBook G3 800mhz that I purchased in February of 2003. I loved that thing, except it had the dreaded logic board failures. After 5 replacements and 3 years, Apple replaced it with an iBook G4 1.33. I still have that one.

2 months after I bought the iBook G3, I purchased a 20GB 3rd Gen iPod. I still use it at work. The battery isn't that great, but it still plays tunes fine!

Well, my family had an Apple IIc back in the day, but that was followed by years of clone PCs. My own personal first apple product was a 12inch iBook G4, followed shortly there after by an ipod Mini. Its been all :apple: since :)

First Mac was a Macintosh SE. I remember being overjoyed when I upgraded to one with a 40MB disk. I thought I had an insane amount of space. Oh God, memories...

2nd Gen iPod Nano. 2GB and I was overjoyed when I got it. Unfortunately it broke after a year or so, can't remember what happened to it, and the store replaced it with a blue 2nd Gen iPod Nano but this time it was a 4GB one so I was even more chuffed.

I sold it last year and I actually regret it slightly as it was a fantastic device.

i went from an iPod Video, to an iPod touch, to an iPhone 3G, then to a MacBook Pro, and finally to the iPhone 4.
its funny that once you touch an iPod it just seems like natural progression to get a MacBook / iMac. :D:apple:;)
