Picture Books

Haven't made up my mind yet but it will be something laden with colorful illustrations :D

I'll probably download Kindle for iPad and read whatever materials I need at the time. It's more for study than recreational.

What I completely disagree. Most people would consider me a "computer geek". Yet I read thousands of books, I read more online, but I also read a lot of books. It is more enjoyable to read then to watch tv most of the time, because you learn a lot more. And it is just so much more fun you sit back, relax and use you imagination when reading a book. I think it will be a HUGE success. :apple:

Definetly something by John Ringo

Don't know what's going to be on iBooks and I don't know when the Kindle app will be approved.
-But-
I want "The Last Centurion" by John Ringo (would settle for one of the 'Ghost' series if I had to).

Just can't wait till Saturday...oh..and if I use my iPad at Panera Bread that doesn't mean I am pretentious does it ? :p

I've never read The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I downloaded it from Gutenberg to Stanza as a test, and within a few pages I discovered Holmes has a drug habit. So I did some googling and found out he's also the direct inspiration for the Dr. House character. (Apparently this is totally obvious to anyone familiar with both works.) Anyway, it got much more interesting when I found this out, so I think that'll be one of my first, just because I've read a lot of the other 'top' Guternberg titles already. The iPhone screen is too small and I read too fast--too much page-turning.

I suggest you try Google Books version of those Sherlock Holmes (go to google.com/books on the iPad). The original scanned includes all the arts that Gutenberg most likely don't include.

Maybe i was harsh. Maybe some people liked it. I was disappointed.

Davinci/Angels and Demons were much better books...
i liked lost symbol so maybe ill check out angels and demons first, i liked that movie. maybe alice in wonderland too cause its free.

I don't think the book sucked nearly as much as the movie.

I just realized- good thing iPad has a "screen lock" switch that prevents the screen from rotating (ie shuts off the accelerometer) when reading in iBooks.

Because Angels and Demons has a lot of graphics in the book that you need to turn the book upside down for. Here is an example from the book (please be careful turning your laptops upside down!)

Lost Symbol isn't a movie yet....

Oops I was thinking Angels & Demons. There were so many sections cut out that the movie didn't make any sense.

Yes, Lost Symbol would probably be a lost cause if they made a movie out of it.

Going Rogue: An American Life
Memoir of Sarah Palin

I hear its a good comedy... You Betcha ;)

(I am actually serious... )

Definetly read Angels & Demons. The movie was trash compared to the book.

Will the publisher for Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter be on the iBookStore on Day 1? I sure hope so.

Edit: Yes I believe it will!!!! :) It's Grand Central Publishing which is a member of the Hachette Book Group
