Right now, it would be to use the modem that allows me to get coverage best on T-Mobile. All the rest is fluff if I can't use the phone as a phone everywhere I need it.

I’m using an X at the minute and already hankering to go back to Android. I like the hardware of the X, really do, but how boring are iPhones?! Personal opinion of course.

Customisation is front and centre of why I like Android. I love being able to choose which app is the default for certain things, and I like that I can google search at a tap. Sure, the google app for iPhone is there but it isn’t as good in practice in my experience as having a dedicated search bar wherever you want it on the home screen.

I have a MacBook, which ‘talks’ to my iPhone but I don’t find it to be a draw to keeping me on iOS. If anything it works the same as how I use my Android device with my Mac. I connect WhatsApp up and that’s it. If I used calendar, notes, reminders and iMessage and needed all of that info on my MacBook i’d feel differently I’m sure, but I don’t. I also don’t see the need to do that, when I’m never without my phone...

I have AirPods which I like but they work well with Android too. Sure, they lose some functionality like Siri with Android but couldn’t really care less as the less said about Siri the better really.

For me, I’ve had the X for 6 weeks or so now (since launch) and I can only get so far changing my damn wallpaper. It’s just an iPhone. And for some people that’s more than enough and I honestly wish it was for me, but it’s becoming more and more tempting to switch.

I also have encountered issues with iPhones more than any other device I’ve used. Emails not coming through (happens on every single iPhone I’ve had), app crashes, camera crashes and freezing (not very often, but one offs), and Siri just activating himself for no reason.
Apple finally nailed the hardware but I’ve found that they’re now the ones trailing with software as they’ve basically stood still. If I could find a use case for having two phones I’d of course keep my X and use Android to, but that’s not a possibility for me so it’s one or the other. As a random aside I also much prefer the google keyboard and find its not as good on iPhone. I also don’t really like Face ID’s notification handling but that’s another story.

No hate, I like the X a helluva lot it’s gorgeous, but I definitely think that if someone asked me which side of the fence I’m on I’d always say Android now as it just suits my tastes and useage better. :)
