Nice guys. Keep voting. Aren't there hundreds of thousands of registered users on this site?

Sigh... just a Toshiba lappy. One day when the hubby gets a job and we have a little more money in our budget maybe I'll look to replace it with an iBook. :)

Wow, it says my computer was produced in 2004. We bought it in the summer of 2004, but they were introduced a year before. It was a "buy now while supplies last" thing. How could it have been made in 2004, and not 2003?

Built July 2002.. upgraded in August 2004 (new processor, more ram).

It is my homebrew linux box (that I am ashamed to admit I didn't have the money for much more than it is) :

Athlon 1300 (1.3Ghz.. I had a 1.2Ghz Duron, but the L2 Cache went bad on it, and I wanted a faster processor in 2004, but I didn't want to get a new Motherboard)
512megs of RAM (back in 2002 I put in 256 megs)
6gig Harddrive (I forget the brand, my 80gig IBM Deskstar suffered a horrible head crash)
ATI Rage 128 (128 doesn't mean 128megs.. nope.. it is a horrible 32meg card)
Creative 52X CD-ROM Drive
Toshiba DVD/CDRW Drive

... now you know why I want to get a MacBook Pro in the Fall.

I didn't see Blue Velvet's post and it took me about 15 minutes to find out when mine was actually made. Here's another link to get the date (introduction dates/specs) if you don't want to use your serial number

It doesn't have to be exactly when it was released.

For instance, my G4 tower was bought in 2004, but I know that it's a 2003 computer. So I voted 2003.

Just the year that that computer was being made... it doesn't have to be so specific.

Well it would be an easy thing for the OP to copy the link and edit their first post to include it, you would have thought. ;)

Mine is one of the exclusive, limited edition run of the 2006 1.83 MBP..

(Jan 2006 - May 2006) :D .. Actually consdering they didnt ship till late feb/march its even less ;)

I love it! even though it toys with me so.

Okay, that's enough votes. Although feel free to vote if you haven't yet.

The conclusion of the poll is:

Macs are not very upgradable so most people buy a new mac instead of upgrading, and apple makes more money.

Seriously.... 90.98% of the people have a mac from 2003 or later!

2003 - 17" 1.25 GHz G4 iMac. Still runs just as great as she did the first day I powered her up. Won't be buying another Mac until 2007/2008 at this rate...
