Is that a messenger-style bag (as in single strap)? If so, how far can you carry that load before you get permanent shoulder damage!?

Actually, when you throw the pack up on your back, there isn't that much weight on the shoulder. Either way, I don't really have to carry it too far, I can pull right up by the door at all the school buildings I go to.

Here's what I haul with my in my trusty STM Sphere backpack:

MacBook + power adapter
2-prong "dovetail" plug for MacBook brick
3-prong to 2-prong outlet adapter
iPod + headphones
cell phone
checkbook
sunscreen
Canon PowerShot SD750 camera (not pictured)
USB cables for camera and iPod
flash drive
camera battery charger
camera video out cable
an assortment of pens and pencils
band-aids
a folder or notebook
ibuprophen
I usually carry a mini DVI-VGA adapter, but my brother borrowed it.

Your power adapter isn't made for the MacBook. That's the old 15" MBP adaptor. </nerd>

Indeed it is! My original adapter failed a while back, and when I went to replace it, the MBP adapter was the only one in stock. Since they were the same price I settled with it.

Nice observation there. :p

Oshawa, the town that motovates Canada.

Big GM plants here. ;)

But slowly cutting back. :(

Atleast your not Cornwall. Domtar was the only thing going for them, I mean, Cornwall was known for its smell. If nothing else. Now its just... Cornwall. Actually it still stinks because of Big Ben (dumbing centre used as a ski hill in winter, yuck)

I like this thread, I like to see what people keep stowed away, does that make me nosy?

Will post my contents later.

You do know that the power adapter has little arms that pop open to wrap the cord around, and that you don't need your own tie right?

i do know that, but i've had them break on two separate power adapters, and when i use the cord its usually unrolled all the way, this is just easier for me. :)

I have beat the crap out of this thing already, and it's got nary a mark on it! Seriously though, it take a lot of abuse, and takes it well. I've carried around an Aluminum Powerbook, a Pismo, and a MacBook, and the Eee PC is definitely the lightest and most durable of the four. It makes huge difference when you have to carry around a laptop everywhere, and aren't too concerned about power or screen size.

My external drive is not only for backup (I have others that I leave at home), but also to carry my music library, which is currently more than 150GB.
You carry your backups around with you in the same bag as the computer you're backing up? Am I the only one who thinks that's a foolish idea?

Hate to nitpick but its 4GB not MB as in Gigabytes of RAM not Megabytes of RAMi
If you want to nitoick then techncially it's 4GiB not 4GB.

I think it isn't only for backups and he has other backups at home.

My external drive is not only for backup (I have others that I leave at home), but also to carry my music library, which is currently more than 150GB. This external drive is formatted with FAT32, for transferring files as needed between Windows PCs.

Thankfully i don't want to 'nitoick'

I simply spilled everything on the floor, as was suggested. This depicts the contents that are in 90% of the time.
As for the other 10%: Just imagine the whole stuff listed below with the addition of a MacBook and Charger.

Got the bag some years ago at H&M

Contents:
  • Nikon D40 with Sigma 30mm
  • camera strap (not on camera)
  • passport (you never know when you got to bail)
  • cigarettes
  • wallet (i should replace it, it's in the stages of dissolving)
  • calender
  • mascara
  • nail file
  • iPod Photo
  • keys
  • hair clips
  • hair ties
  • chewing gum
  • Nikon Remote
  • DS Game container (blue thing)
  • pens
  • USB stick (almost invisible)
  • another hair clip
  • camera viewfinder cover
  • Zippo lighter
  • bottle of water
  • headphones
  • SonyEricsson cell phone (not visible, used to take this picture)

Wow, this made me realize how much small stuff I have lying in that bag.
