Yup. When docked the combo of Pro and Keyboard were actually heavier than an MBA. This was a point of criticism from me as well as the way the lower edge of the iPad hovered over the row of keys so the tips of my fingers were constantly smacking against it when I was seriously typing. It's hard to tell without looking in person whether they managed to actually fix that or not.Author,
The #1 criticism of the last model was its weight; it was surpassingly heavy. Consider bringing up any weight improvements, if there are any, during reviews of subsequent models.
Excellent point. I had forgotten about that aspect. I had the 2020 IPP with MKB and that was a real problem. That’s disappointing. They still haven’t figured out how to make it more stable when using it on a lap or when in bed and viewing angles are still somewhat limited.
amazon package weight list for old and new one is the same. 2.2 lbs vs 2.29 so actual keyboard will likely be just as similarWHAT. DOES. IT. WEIGH???
Why is this information not available anywhere??
The iPad Pro is not meant for light tasks. For that you have the Air.I'm bummed they have gotten rid of the folio keyboard case. It's light and was an ok keyboard for light tasks. If I'm doing something that requires the magic keyboard, I'll just use my laptop.
My biggest concern is the lack of side protection on this and the folio case. One slip and the corner is going to get dinged up. Has anyone that owned these type of cases in the past have any comments?
Oh and the price.
I own the '22 pro 11 inch and the Magic Keyboard. It's no more fragile than any laptop. They're not made to be dropped. My biggest concern is the lack of side protection on this and the folio case. One slip and the corner is going to get dinged up. Has anyone that owned these type of cases in the past have any comments?

Yeah. Once again I don’t get to experience it. It’s my favorite case of all.I'm bummed they have gotten rid of the folio keyboard case. It's light and was an ok keyboard for light tasks. If I'm doing something that requires the magic keyboard, I'll just use my laptop.
2 12.9" iPads in our household. 1 has been AppleCare'd for this very reason. Fell and made a jagged burr that ripped clothing. The other has multiple dents. After warranty, I bought a completely different third-party case to protect edge, and a screen protector. Gen1 Air not-case had same issue. It is asinine that there's no edge/corner protection on iPads cases from Apple. As usual, there are plenty third-party cases that are nice slim and protect the edge/corners. I too slowly learned my lesson. 🤷🤨My biggest concern is the lack of side protection on this and the folio case. One slip and the corner is going to get dinged up. Has anyone that owned these type of cases in the past have any comments?
Oh and the price.
The whole new thing. 13” M4 iPad Pro and the new Magic Keyboard case. Has function key row which the prior didn’t right? Also haptic feedback on the trackpad. Also it’s glass now. Also aluminum for parts of it.So should I upgrade to iPad Pro from my 2018 12.9 inch Pro and buy a new magic case, or just buy the 13 inch M4 and use my existing Magic Keyboard case (which according to the Apple website will fit).
