The only thing that sucks about cutting out cable / Satellite is NFL games. I really want my HD NFL games...
iTunes home sharing will let you access the videos stored in your iTunes library, whereas iTunes Match does not (aside from music videos, and only those purchased through the iTunes store).
Moreover, as someone who is considering rolling out ATVs for all of my TVs and ditching satellite I don't want to rely on the Internet for everything. I would like to balance that load by using the local network for, well, content that is already local.
Then you should have answered the guy by mentioning that instead of iTunes Match.Frankly why I don't find a non-jailbroken ATV of much value.
Jailbreak, XBMC pointed at a NAS on the network, and off you go. None of the "authorized computers" , additional machines running, etc.

And as far as media sharing...if Have a NAS I don't need to have iTunes running to share with the AppleTV?
