Well then I guess it must be my fault Apple can't make a damn proper Airport driver that works and doesn't drop/has a weak connection.

(I've tried all kinds of routers, settings, etc.) Oddly enough I bought a Hawking N wireless USB adapter and, guess what!? Internet works perfectly! But no, clearly I must be doing something wrong.

I don't know dude. I've had issues with Leopard since 10.5.1 with every app that I use for personal and work related things. After 10.5.4 it was fine.

Call Apple.

You know NOTHING of the corporate world, I on the other hand am a veteran. We are looking at Mac's more than ever. Windows 7 is a horrible JOKE to IT people, even compared to Vista. No one is compelled to switch. Get a life.

Nice update. NOT. Good job. Stay off the forums. Get a life. Use a Mac. End of story.

Okay bottom line: fathers been in IT for over 25 years. Used my Windows 7 beta last night: almost barfed. From an IT standpoint: IT SUCKS HARDCORE AS MUCH AS WINDOWS ME DID. GET OVER IT. USE A MAC.

You do realize your post probably just convinced 10 Windows users to stick with Windows, right?

I've decided to find out the real differences between the 2 upcoming OS's, by installing them on my MBP, I will use them both for general use, and see which one is the best, and relate this back to leopard, I could also compare photoshop work, but I don't really want to.

I know a friend is running W7 as his main OS, and he's tech savvy, so I really hope it's as good as people claim, so that Apple truely improve the OS.

A lot of it depends on your usage patterns. If you use Office a lot, you will definitely prefer Windows over OS X, since the Mac version is pretty much worthless (unless if you use Office to do book reports). The lack of macro support in the Mac version of Excel for one is a huge deal breaker. And iWork is even more worthless in the non-design/publishing corporate world.

I run it in boot camp on both my MBP and MBA and it's running great on both, as well as on my main desktop. It seems to have lower resource usage than vista. With common programs open and a few extra systray apps under vista it was about 70-80% of my 4gb on my desktop, whereas windows 7 uses 65% at most for the same apps.

I'd say that's a pretty good footprint decrease. Everything seems much snappier, especially explorer.

What exactly do you mean from an IT standpoint it sucks? This is a serious question. What exactly is Windows 7 suck for IT? If you're talking about software compatibility, then moving to OS X solves nothing. If anything, Windows 7 provide IT and enterprise with more granularity in everything including group policy, servicing, and deployment. This is made much easier now with Windows 7 as compared to XP and Vista. You are not going to get anyone to switch with that attitude.

OS X in enterprise settings?

New features for IT and enterprise settings include, but not limited to:

* BranchCache (offline access of cached files)
* DirectAccess (paired with Server 2008 R2 and you don't need VPN anymore)
* Mount and boot-up from virtual hard disk (VHD)
* BitLocker to Go (built-in usb/external drive encryption)
* RemoteApp (improved version of Terminal Services)
* Administrators can force encryption on all USB drives
* AppLocker (fine control over which applications can be used & installed)
* Expanded Group Policy and finer controls of UAC
* Domain Name System Security Extensions (new protocol for anti-DNS spoof)
* Problem Recorder (a new program to record step-by-step problems)
* Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment
* Built-in Biometric Framework (standardized framework for fingerprint reader)
* Built-in Windows Recovery Environment
* Imaging and upgrade to Windows 7 from a USB flash drive
* Improved Migration Tools
- Dynamic Driver Provisioning (centralized location for driver storage)
- Multicast Multiple Stream Transfer (faster imaging restore)

WTF are YOU talking about? Tiger was great. If you are SOOOO knowledgeable about what tiger "should have been" then you'd work at Apple. FIN

Parallels offers all of that and Windows 7 beta still sucks hardcore.

Why even bother responding to stupid stuff like this?

In the same vein, what's so special about Linux guys? I use OSX and I haven't tried Linux but am I missing something?

Paragraphs dude. I am sure what you said would have been the answer to everyone's problems even if they weren't related to the thread, but I am sure no one wants to or can read what you wrote. Paragraphs where invented for a reason.

Simply put, Windows 7 is what Vista would have been had they not had to completely rewrite Vista half way through development. Windows 7 is quite nice for Windows. It'll be well received (and already is even in beta).

I personally prefer OS X because Windows still uses the archaic registry, has DLL Hell and has legacy support to way back when.

Hehe what do you expect, it's a Mac forum... style over content.
It's rather hard to reply to someone's post when it's difficult to read and discern independent thoughts...

The only reason for me to buy Windows 7 right now is the inclusion of the Windows Media Center updates. I already have the installer package so I can add it to my non-OEM build.
