Whats the consensus on the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse?

I've had my starck mouse for 2 yrs going 3 now and its....well worn. The silver plastic has turned black and the cord is starting to disintegrate but it still works which is weird. Anyhue i think its time to retire and i'm considering a bluetooth mouse. I thought of the radtech ones but their in the US and shipping to the UK will cost more than an Apple bluetooth mouse.

Sooo logic dictates get the bluetooth mouse, it seems nice. Has laser tracking and the whole Apple aesthetic too bad its "white"

Anyhue i just wanted to get a review from everyday users. So what do you guys think, is it worth it?

I bought one about a week ago, you should know I'm a very picky person, I hate devices that lag, even for a second, so I was hesitating at first, because my wired mighty mouse was perfect, just not wireless, in the end I went ahead and bought the whole package, wireless mighty mouse and keyboard, and to tell you the truth, I can't tell the difference between wired and wireless, I mean yea, there is no wire, but it functions as if it's wired, which is great, this is the best wireless mouse I have ever used :)

probably as bad as the non bt one. I really haven't used it but i did own two regular mighty mice. Gave both away. The buttons stopped working within weeks. I'll pass on the bt one.
 
I'm still waiting for mine, (get BT keyboard at the same time I think). From what I've seen, they should be good, but us Mac users are picky and so good can often be poor in our minds.
 
The Mighty Mouse is poopy. I don't like it. You can make is laser and you can make it bluetooth. The fact of it is, it's an uncomfortable mouse and doesn't really serve for much real world application. I would go Logitech, or God forbid I even say this, Microsoft. They have decent mice and keyboards. A lot better than Apple's.

I second that. The first thing I did when my iMac arrived was to buy a decent mouse (happened to be Logitech). I wonder what % of users like the MM simply because it is made by Apple, and would have thrown the same mouse away had it been made by a third party. Remember that a lot of people liked the hockey puck mice too, which NOBODY can possibly like without its apple logo. The MM is, admittedly, better, so Apple is at least improving their products, which is a good thing :rolleyes:
 
Can anyone tell us how much it weighs? I think the regular corded mighty mouse is dar to light, but if it weighs close the apple one button wireless mouse, I would consider it. Its hard to find one to test out, no one has them in stock / on display.
 
I've not used the BT mighty mouse, but I did use the wired version in the apple shop the other day. It was somewhat uncomforable.

But all personal choice really, go the to store and see what you think. I've had a logitech which came with my PC, had it for 4 years nearly and v.comfortable.

Bought a wireless version for my dad's laptop, he's extremely fussy, but he loves it!!!

However it doesn't look anywhere near as good and the MM.

well I never purchased an apple mouse only until they released the mighty mouse, I've had my wired one for almost 6-7 months, and so far, not a single problem, I'm not sure how it's useless, it has right click, can access dashboard and expose with simplicity, and has the scroll ball, and now it's wireless, perfect, for me at least, I can imagine it getting messed up if people use it with crumbs of food on their hands, the scroll ball can get pretty clogged up easily, though it hasn't happened to me...
 
I still prefer my Logitech s530 Desktop. The volume buttons + / - in the mouse are priceless. It is one of those features you think you won't use... My only complain is if I mess with the USB receiver it blocks the features until I reboot my MacBook Pro. So I just keep it in place. When I used it with a G4 Mac Mini, it was fine. I think the Mighty mouse will be better in 3-4 years from now.
 
I didn't like the mighty mouse, and I don't like it in BT form. Call me old fashion, but I like the one button mouse. I don't like how flimsy the MM felt, and the little ball scroller felt worse.
 
what would be a good option for MBP, given the small amount of USB port (yes, i know, i can get hub, but beside that.) hopefully bluetooth. (it'd be a plus if i can get it in local bestbuy, officedepot, officemax,etc)
 
One can certainly learn to live with the mighty mouse, just like one can learn to enjoy stinky cheese. However, one can not eat stinky cheese as comfort food - gimme mashed potatoes any day and stinky Munster about once a month.

What I am saying is that MM requires you to adjust, which would be good had it given me any unique benefits (like for example, learning how to drive gives you a unique benefit of being able to honk at others in a traffic jam;) ). But MM does not give you anything new that you can not do with a regular mouse. Diagonal scrolling does not tip the scale yet.

Seconded - I've owned both the wired and wireless Mighty Mouse, though, and the wireless one is a bit superior in my opinion. I used to need a mousepad to work on my desk - now I don't! Additionally, while my old wired Mighty Mouse had trouble recognizing the right click, the wireless one recognizes it fantastically!

Oh, and the scroll bar has yet to get stuck on the wireless one - the wired one had a few problems, although it was always fixible using iGary's Patented Cleaning Technique :p .
 
Wow, reviews arent really glowing here. Which makes my decision harder. Looks like i might have to get the Radtech mouse afterall or push on ahead with my current mouse.

I tried the mighty mouse when they were released last year i think and i wasnt to excited. I kept pushing the wrong buttons (side buttons) and would mistakenly click when i intended to mouse instead. I guess i was hoping there'd be changes in the Bluetooth version.

You should go to the nearest electronics store, where they usually have mice on display, and try several mice to see for yourself which one feels the best. Then maybe also visit a b&m Apple store and do the same with the MM.
 
I like my BT MM, no problems here. I never use the side buttons - i tried it out just for kicks and it was kind of uncomfortable, but i love the ball and the look and it doesn't lag. I had to increase the tracking though in the preferences quite a bit from the stock settings.

I have the wired version so I apologise in advance, but then again I'm sure you'd appreciate many wired-MM reviews as opposed to no reviews at all :p .

I'm almost happy with mine. I love how it looks (although I agree with someone who mentioned a while back that the ball looks out of place, should be a wheel), but it has some annoying problems such as a short cable (won't matter to you though :p), a ball which can get clogged up very easily (and thus is unusable until cleaned out) and the inability to right-click when left-clicking. Personally this means nothing to me because I've not actually been in a situation where I've needed to left-click and right-click at the same time.

One more thing; the squeeze-me buttons on the side are retarded. I find them annoying to use... plus they're only one button, not two, like one would hope. I would have preferred two normal buttons on the sides of the mouse instead of these fancy-yet-useless things. It might make people say "WOW!" but I just say "bow-wow it sucks".

my guess is people are seeing that there are cheaper and better mice out there. Apple mice have always been way overprice and there are just better mice out there. Beside it pops up way to much on the forums about completes to be that good of a mouse. I willing to be more people use the MX1000 and other logic mice than the MM or M$ mice and those just dont pop up very offen with completes but the MM seems to pop up time and time again which leads me to believe that is an over price POS.
 
I have the old Apple BT Mouse, an it's perfect for what I use it for;)

So I'm sure the new laser BT mighty mouse will be better, seen as it is more precise and has 4 buttons:)
