I’ve never damaged my own phone. But just yesterday I went to Apple to have them replace my battery. The genius guy ran the diagnostics and told me the battery was fine. I explained that it wouldn’t make it through the day and I would pay for the battery replacement. He looked over the phone carefully and we both agreed that there were only minor scratches on the bottom edge. When I got my phone back it was scratched to heck on all the edges. He went to his manager, came back and offered me the battery replacement for free. I explained that I make it a point to take care of my phones and put them in cases and always put on a screen protector.

They ended up giving me a new phone.

Day after I received it. Had the 11 in my pocket when I went to the grocery. Slid out of pocket getting out of the truck and dropped a good 4-5 feet.

The case I was waiting for was sitting at the front door when I got back home.

I've never broken or damaged an iPhone going all the way back to the first. I have broken the displays on three Android phones over these years. That's just because I used the Android phones more and had the iPhone in a pocket.

I’m glad it worked out!

Not damaged quickly, but I do have a fun damage story.

I had my iphone X fall off my motorcycle mount at 70 mph. I had to go back to pick get the remains because I had applecare+. This was on a major 5 lane (5 per direction) highway with an HOV lane. Luckily, it was early morning on my way to work, and I worked opposite the major flow of traffic. I had to frogger my way to get phone, which had traveled quite a bit from where it fell.

The front, back, everything was damaged, but I was still able to answer calls, and everything else possible through "Hey Siri" using my airpod pros.

I put the phone in a ziplock bag I keep in my saddlebags in case of heavy rain (put all my electronics in it) since there were shards of glass everywhere. I had an appointment scheduled for my Apple store for right after work, and had a replacement in my hand within 30 minutes of arrival.

This was not long after AirPod Pro's came out, which I got the first week, so it was a few months into my iphone X ownership. I didn't get the iphone X right away.

I've never damaged an iPhone. Had iPhone 5S from 2014 to 2020 (only replaced battery once) and iPhone 12 Mini from 2020 till today

I’ve never damaged an iPhone but have smashed a couple of iPads.

My wife dropped a brand new iPhone 5 as she was slamming her car door shut and bent the phone into a banana shape. I used to have a picture of that one as it was spectacular.

I did the exact same thing with my 13 mini - however I managed to drop it 2 months in and got a miniature crack in the screen right in between the screen protector and the case (typical).
The screen protector took the brunt of the impact but still had to use my AppleCare to replace the screen.
Yikes, the screen protector had one job which is to protect the screen and it couldn't do that.

One time I was recording a video in my car and my friend tapped the phone and the window was open so the phone flew outside, and saw the screen side sliding on the road for like 10 meters! I had this Gadgetshieldz film screen protector on it and it saved the screen from scratches but the protector is damaged so much!

Never broken anything on my phone. My office mate got a new iPad a few months ago and dropped it the next morning to cause multiple screen cracks. Nothing like dropping $100+ for a screen repair that voids your warranty within 24 hours of purchase.

Dropped one within a week. Apple took pity on me and replaced. Those were the days….
