How ironic that every time someone brings up the issue of why not just buy a Mac Pro Tower and be done with it everyone screams about its to much machine and I dont need that much memory etc. but what is the first thing they do after ordrering a new Mini? or any other lower end machine ?

Crack it open void the wrranty and start adding memory and larger hard drives etc. seems like some of you are really confused about what you want. Why in the hell would anyone buy a brand new Mini take it home and tear it apart

I really dont understand you guys, buy a brand new machine just to bust it open like a clam.

Stop, don't do it. Now everyone who wants the mythical Mac mini-tower will jump up and down about the lack of same.

Seriously, the Mac Pro is too expensive for most people and many still want a desktop Mac without a display. The demand is there, but no product, so the franken-mini is born.

Cheers,

Look at the price of the cheapest Mac Pro you can get. Now compare that to a baseline Mac Mini + 4GB RAM + 320GB HD (RAM and HD bought somewhere outside of Apple). I don't think there is much else that can be said to counter your statement.

And that's not even taking into account the massive savings on space and electricity.
