What's the next big free email service after gmail?

For all serious email, I host mh own at my own domain. It's cooler, more private, accessible anywhere, and less prone to spam.

I really want to try this, I have for many years.

I would assert for most people, self shared hosting in regards to email would generate more spam.

At least with gmail they have the metrics, and you can do the neat + trick to see who's selling you out.

trick is often times you lump in with cost of running your own mail server is some type of metric software filtering spam. Really they would be even better at it since with the Baisan filters there weakness worlds would be very different than big ones that there for harder to get around.

I agree with that in principle....however the analysis of x million types of mail would easily counteract that...as well as white/blacklist setup evading your average user, let alone weighting rules..

What is the cost assorted with hosting my own e-mail? Like I said, this is something I looked on and off about over the years. Now that I have a little extra money, it would be interesting to tackle.
