It’s nice for search engines in general, because the links you click on will always be opened in new tabs. The pinned tab will stay intact completely, which I think is very useful.
Oh is that the case? I don't have the GM so I wouldn't know, that's really useful then! Haven't really used Chrome's pinned tabs since it was kinda unintuitive to allows right click, slide them over seems 'easier' but I'll see once Wednesday comes around.

Yes. When you pin a tab, say google.com, then Safari will not allow you to change that website to, say, facebook.com. It will instead always open a website with a different domain in a new tab. This applies to manual input in the address bar as well as links you click on. Super useful. Chrome doesn’t do that, at least not when I used it the last time.
