What's the point of the 9.7" iPad Pro?

Is that the progression though? Is the 9.7" iPad Pro seen as the successor to the Air line, or is it a different product line that will continue in parallel?
Yes, the Pro is the succession for the Air. There will be no Air 3.
Most likely if you have to ask the question then stick with the Air 2 which is a totally awesome machine too. It's probably the best Apple product I've ever owned. And I've owned a ton. The iPhone 7+ is pretty amazing too.
The iPad Air 2 was introduced over two years ago. The 9.7" Pro replaced the iPad Air 2. The iPad Air 2 is only being sold alongside the iPad Pro because it's the previous model and Apple always sells previous model iProducts at a cheaper price.
Honestly, I like it better because of the audio quality. The Air 2 would vibrate immensely and crackle at higher volumes needed for me to hear things clearly. I can have half the volume on my Pro and it's clear with no distortions.
The "iPad" "iPad Air" and "iPad Pro" are all the same product just different generations. The iPhone 7 is the next iPhone regardless of it having a different name to the 6S. The Xbox one is the next generation of Xbox even though the previous was Xbox 360. All companies change the name of their products through generations. It's all marketing BS.
Its better in every single way than the Air 2. High colour gamut display(great for photos), less reflective display(it really makes a difference when using it outside), TruTone, dramatically improved audio, a camera that can scan documents with flash, Pencil support, smart connector and a faster cpu and much faster GPU.
I love the quad speakers! I picked up a used 9.7 pro because I wanted them so badly. I waited to see if 9.7 iPad had them and was sad it didn't.Those quad-speakers. Apple wasn't playing around
Agree. The display on the 9.7 Pro is stunning and leagues ahead of previous generations. I could read anything on it for hours. Between true tone, the low reflectivity, the brightness, and the color accuracy, it is the best display I've ever seen.
