I think it's the OS. My 7 Plus did this when I had the 7 Plus back then on iOS 10. My 8 Plus does it and so does my iPhone X. I don't use wireless charging, so this also happens even if wired too at 90% so it's normal for your stats to reset at 90%. I also use this gauge this to see if I have an issue with usage and standby going up at the same time. If it doesn't then I'll plug it back in and charge it to full (never had issues and my battery capacity is still over 100% on Coconut battery). Oppose to fully charging it only to find out that my usage and standby are the same.

I need people to do this exercise if they dont mind. Thanks

launch day iPhone X and battery health is already down to 90%. I always plug it into the iPhone charger and charge overnight (10pm-5am), not sure why it's degraded so quickly.

I purchased my X on No 24 (Black Friday) so the phone has seen over 8 months of usage. I am at 99%, however coconut battery still reports 100%. The phone has 165 load cycles.

My X’s battery health is now at 98% while my 8+ is still 100%. Weird

It says “lower capacity may result in fewer hours of usage between charges”. So does this mean, running down your battery below 20% before charging it?

Hi, I bought the phone in February 2019 and not even 6 months my battery health (beta) is showing the battery capacity at 96%, the phone doesn’t charge over 88% too overall, attached is a screenshot. Can someone please help??

I've never used wireless charging and my health is at 96% now. Bought my X in January, it dropped to 95% back in April. Then went up to 97% when I restored to iOS 11.4. Now it's back down to 96%.

Seems from what i’ve Seen in different forums people are saying 11.4 brought battery down to 98%. (On iPhone X ). Coincidence ???

All these comments are making me lose faith in IOS's battery percentage readings.

Glad I don't peek at them too often. If the battery lasts throughout your day, just enjoy the phone...

My 6S still shows as 99% on ios but on coconut battery it's around 90%

Launch day iPhone X. I have been using the iPad-style charger for overnight charging daily and just recently (like 3 weeks ago) switched to the smaller iPhone charger to charge my phone overnight. Battery health: 92% :(

Also, I heavily use my phone for GPS and Google Maps is constantly on during the working hours (9am - 6pm).

Should I be worried that the battery is draining so quickly?

How do you find out how many cycles? What app do you use?

I only get 7 hours of heavy use with my X and I have only had it since end of July.
My 8 plus used to get 9-10 hours

Should I return my X?

Perfectly normal. If you’re worried, get a new battery from Apple before the end of the year for cheap.

Neither of my iPhone 6 with a "Batteries Plus Bulbs" 3rd party battery will let me see battery health in 11.4.1, and just shows a spinning gear. But I know that previous versions of iOS 11 did (just don't know at which version that it stopped working).

Updating to iOS 12 did not fix the problem, and unfortunately iOS 12 prevents some of my old battery measuring apps from seeing the battery health as well.

Anyone else? Suggestions?
